Lantern flowers

Shelby, on September 6, 2018 at 11:01 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 5
Hello! So i am attaching floral pieces to the tops of our wedding lanterns, as shown, but am not sure the best way to attach them with the use of silk flowers. Should i cut the stems really short and loop the ends? Suggestions?

You can cut the stems just make sure there is enough playability to move them if need be.
Maybe add a ribbon where stems won't be noticeable on top .

We used thin wire and wrapped the stems right under the flower and then anchored it that way. Here is our bridesmaid lanterns that we did with that method.

I tried to use the wire but couldn’t get it to work so I just hot glued them. But I didn’t plan to reuse the lanterns or anything

Hi Shelby! I really like this idea! You could try clear zip ties, super glue, ribbon, or even wire! I think that a lot of trial and error will help you find the best way to attach the flowers. You could cut the stems and attempt to wrap them around the flower but there's no guarantee they will stay without a little extra support! What other decor and design elements do you plan to have at your wedding?

Zip ties is a good idea, and gorilla glue too!
