Ladies Wearing Heels and Flats

magnolia5, on February 8, 2018 at 9:13 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14
If you're wearing heels for the ceremony and flat shoes for the reception, what are you having your dress hemmed to go with?
I'd hate for my toes to be peeking out from the dress when I'm in heels. But then again, I would hate to be walking all over my dress when I'm in flat shoes.

I’m just wearing flats. I don’t see the the purpose of switching shoes, maybe because of my dress/ height difference between FH and I.

We are almost the same height, I’m 5.7” he’s 5’8.

    How high are your heels?
It would help of you don't wear really tall heels if you plan on transitioning to flats.
You could also wear flats with a bit of a platform (think creeper shoes) or a very low wedge shoe.

I'm wearing either a 1 inch heel or 1.5 heel. I will be changing them most likely at the reception after our first dance and father daughter dance probably.

I have smaller heels (maybe 2 to 2.5 inches?). I found some sperrys that are sort of platform to wear at the reception. Theres some heoght difference, but its minimal!

I’m doing the same thing. I talked to several different seamstresses and they all said to hem the dress with the shortest shoe. As far as heels go, I’ll just make sure I don’t wear stilettos lol. I’m probably going to do a low heel, but make sure I have glittery straps so when my feet do show, at least it won’t look bad!

I was wondering the same thing. I can't dance in heels but I don't want to be tripping on my dress when I put flats on for the reception

My heels peep out a bit under the dress but I don’t mind, I have much bigger things to worry about lol. When I wear my flats I’ll have removed my ceremony skirt so it’s rwall no big deal

Me and my FH are about the same height. I personally do not do heels so I got a pair of the Kate Spade bridal collection Ked sneakers and they are too cute!

While I don't normally wear heels I will be wearing three inch heels for the ceremony and for the first dance and father daughter dance. I will immediately be changing into my beloved flats. The only reason I will be wearing heels is because I am 5' 5" FH is 6' 4". As it is he has to bend down to give me a kiss. Having heels will just be easier for him during the dance and ceremony.

My dress didn’t really need to be hemmed because I’m 5’7” and wearing a heel that’s 2.5” and my seamstress said that’s the perfect height. She also advised me to focus on the heels not flats because it doesn’t make that big of a difference in length where I would be falling over it. I also don’t mind lifting my dress up as I walk if I need to at the reception so if I don’t have to get it hemmed I won’t.
