Ladies, Real talk…is this weird?

Sarah, on September 10, 2025 at 1:16 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 3
So I have always heard the rule never touch another woman’s center stone on her ring & that it means something. Just in general, I think it’s weird…but what do you do?

This happens quite frequently to me, when I was engaged & now married. When women ask to see my ring and they hold my hand and then touch my ring, what am I supposed to do? How can I politely discourage touching my ring? I keep trying to tell myself this doesn’t matter, I clean it regularly, is this a big deal?

It’s not like I’m wearing a 3 carat rock or anything, I have a tasteful small beautiful ring, I don’t understand the obsession, the touching, or the comments. But it’s kind of driving me nuts…

I never heard of this rule before and I never thought it meant anything. I never was offended by them touching it. I always thought that people were happy and excited that I got engaged and got married. During their excitement and happiness for you they want to see and touch the ring and tell you how beautiful and or delicate the details are. I hope this helps.

    Hello,

i never thought of touching anyone's jewerly that close.

these woman are insecure, like touching your stone can indicate if it is real diamond. next time you show your ring, show it with your fingers pointing straight up instead of putting your hand out so they dont have a chance to grab your hand or fingers

It’s not that people shouldn’t touch it, it’s you’re not supposed to put on someone else’s engagement ring.
