Lace dress? How to pick a belt/sash???

MCE, on September 25, 2016 at 1:58 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10

Hi everyone!! I'm new to this forum! I've reading some of these postings so it's nice to have advice from other brides!! I've picked my dress and i absolutely love it, i didn't take any photos of me that day but it is the Maggie Sottero Chesney dress. Our theme is soft romantic/vintage, but I have no idea what belt/sash the dress needs.. the bridal shop didn't have a lot of choices initially for belts but I know I want it to be sewn in, and the dress is ivory lace over champagne. Where do I look? I don't want to spend a fortune but I have no idea what else the dress needs. Here is another bride I found online so you can see the dress! I also kinda thought about adding a little sleeve or strap to hide my arm fat lol, anyone have suggestions?

Your dress is amazing! You could do a belt but I really don't think it's needed. And your arms need no hiding!

Lol thank you... it's not me! I didn't take any photos because I've gone to so many stores and tried on dresses and I feel like the pictures don't do justice. All our family is from out of town and I was sick of hearing everyone's opinions from the different pictures via iPhone camera so it's just going to be a surprise since I've already chose it

I have one of those very opinionated FMIL and 3 sisters so I didn't want to hear them say anything negative about my dream dress

I don't think you need a belt. My dress is similar to this and I am not doing a belt.

Etsy or eBay are good choices for the belt. The dress is beautiful! Congratulations!!

I have a Maggie Sottero lace dress too! "Glenda"...anywho, it came with a matching white belt but I'm not a huge fan of it. I found some champagne/gold ribbon at Michael's and it matches my girl's dresses exactly. I'm thinking of wearing that as a belt. I think it was like $4 for the whole roll of ribbon? it's wider too so it looks perfect. I'll try to find a pic!

I had a lace dress, so word of warning: be careful with belts/sashes that have bling on it. Every time I sat down, the lace would get caught in the rhinestones and then I'd have to carefully pick it out without tearing the dress. It was highly annoying.
