Hi everyone!!! (I put KOWR for "Kind of wedding related"). Have any of you had a mole removed? What did they do? And how much did it cost? I have this annoying mole on the top of my spine that I want to get removed, partly because my shirt tags rub it all day and partly because I am wearing a backless dress for my wedding and I'm self conscious of it. It used to be a cute little mole, but after I had my babies, it grew 3x the size! (I think from hormones). I attached a pic of what it kind of looks like.. Mines a litter bigger. Any advice? Thanks!

Right at the tip of my finger is my scar. You can't tell in pictures but you can feel it. I got mine removed over a decade ago and they used this hole punch type instrument, pushed it in around the mole, used a pair of tweezers to pull the punched out mole up, cut off the skin below the mole and stitched me up. I didn't feel anything but a bit of pressure.

I had one removed by my dermatologist because it was precancerous. They just numbed up the area and sliced it right off. I didn't feel a thing obviously. No idea how much it cost because I was younger and it was covered by my parents insurance.

I called Allstate today because they provide my cancer/critical illness insurance, and they said they'll pay for the biopsy if the Dr. thinks it's a cancerous mole. Otherwise it's considered cosmetic and it's not covered. So I opened up a CareCredit card to cover it until I go full-time in January... I'm part time right now so I can finish school (graduating December). I figure the sooner the better, because it will heal and the scar will have time to fade by my wedding. The mole is right where your shirt tag usually is. I'll take a picture and post it later when I get home.

I had 2 small ones removed last year and it didn't hurt at all. It cost around $100 with insurance (though I don't remember if insurance actually covered anything). They were red for several months, but now you can hardly tell anything was there.

I have another really large one on my back that shows through my dress and I want to get it removed but I have the same problem - no health insurance right now and I'm having trouble finding a job. I lost it when i turned 26.

Just wanted to update and say i got my mole removed today Smiley smile It was a very positive experience and I was literally in and out in 20 minutes. $75 for the exam and $150 for the removal and biopsy... totally worth it though. I'm so happy it's gone.
