KWR: Got my first pair of glasses today!!

*SoonToBeMrs.Kelly*, on March 23, 2012 at 1:36 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

I took FH to get his eyes checked today and decided since I have been having such a horrible time with headaches I should see if I might have some issues with my eyes. Turns out I needed glasses!! Im feeling kinda like a little kid right now, I am all nervous to go to work tomorrow! I feel kinda goofy lol We went out to dinner and it kept feeling like everyone was looking at me! :/ Just gotta get use to it!

For you ladies who wear glasses, are you wearing them on your wedding day, like during the ceremony and pictures? This is all so new to me Smiley smile

They look great!! I don't wear glasses, but I've always said that if I have to, it will be something fun to accessorize with. There are so many options out there, so if you end up wearing them, maybe get a pair that goes with your style for the day.

    You're glasses are super cute!

I've been wearing corrective vision since.. 1997 lol, the better part of my life. I switched to contacts in 2002 and hopefully never have to go back to glasses full time.

I got glasses in 1995. I have contacts but sitting in front of a computer all day with them in makes my head hurt so I wear my contacts in the evenings when we go out or if I go to the gym and on the weekends. It's something you just have to get use to!

You look really cute on that glasses.

I can't wear glasses on my wedding date.

I had -7.5 so my glasses is pretty heavy.

I really like them on you, I do wear glasses and no I won't be wearing them down the aisle, but I may take a few pics with them on.

You look so cute in your new glasses!!

@ CT, I'm with ya. I don't need glasses either, but if that ever changes I know I'll look at it like an opportunity to accessorize! LOL, there are so many cute options for glasses these days!

    They look great!

When I first got glasses, I found that I had trouble adjusting my depth perception, particularly walking up or down steps when you have to look down below your frames. Be careful, but you get used to it Smiley smile

Cute glasses! And I can't tell that they're new for you [:

My vision is SO terrible, I got glasses in the 3rd grade and had to wear bifocals in the 5th! Convinced my dad to get me into contacts by the 9th and have been wearing them ever since.

I hadn't had a new prescription in 2 years (before I switched jobs and lost insurance I made sure to order a whooooole lot of contacts since you have to get an exam every year) so I made SURE to see the optometrist in enough time before the wedding - I couldn't stand to be squinting all the time and not being able to see my guests! I didn't have insurance still but it was WELL worth the investment [:

    You look cute in glasses.

I know what you mean about it feeling weird. I did not wear glassses my entire life and then a few years ago I had to start wearing them. I was so nevrous about it. I did not want to go to work wearing glasses. I wasn't sure what everyone would think since they were used to see me w/o them.

But eventually I started wearing them all the time and now I'm used to them. Most everyone in my life is used to seeing me in them now too.

as for the wedding, I really don't want to wear glasses. I just recently got contacts but so far they are not working out as great as I'd like. Smiley sad I have alot of allergies and it's terrible. When my eyes feel good, the contacts feel great but when they are covered in muscus due to allergies, the contacts hurt alot. And my eyes don't feel good all that often.

When I first got glasses, My eye dr. reccomended that I not get contacts for awhile. She thought it was important for my eyes to adjust with the glasses.

    Good Luck!

I have contacts, and I wear glasses sometimes too. It's up to you if you want to wear them in your pictures, my FH has them and he never ever takes his off, he will definitely be wearing them in our wedding pics. There are many beautiful brides with glasses, and they look so cute on you.

    Thank you ladies Smiley smile

they suggested I try contacts someday down the road! I just dont know! I cut hair and I see how much trouble my coworkers have with getting hair in them, plus the fact that I would have to put something in my eye kinda freaks me out lol! Ill have to think about it!

I've only been wearing glasses since I was 17. One day we were at a pizza place [you know the kind with a bazillion TVs] & I had asked my dad what the score was & he was like, "You can't see that?!" So made an appointment shortly there after & sure enough, my eye sight was awful haha. My parents kept asking me why I had never said anything, but I really honestly assumed everyone saw like that. I didn't know any different!

For the wedding, I'll be wearing contacts. I've always felt like my glasses played down the formality of my outfits. I recently saw a wedding though [wish I could remember exactly where so I could post pictures for you to see] where the bride looked amazing with her glasses & wedding dress together & pulled it off amazingly!!
