KWR: dip dying or ombre muslin DIY

Jess, on May 11, 2016 at 10:05 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 4

Has anyone ever tried dip dying or gradient/ombre-ing muslin/cheese cloth fabric?

i have more than a few tutorials pinned but looking for tips and alternatives for fabric dyes to tintex if you have a different favorite. hoping for a larger color range i don't have to custom myself.

anyone with RL experience on how it turned out? is it as easy as the tutorials make it seem?

we're going to try it for our table runner. :/ eek!

I planned to dip dye my dress, but we had trouble with the fabric. I used iDye, which comes in formulas for natural and poly. They have a huge color range, which is why I went with them. I didn't use muslin, but I imagine the process would be the same. I dipped my fabric most of the way in, the pulled it out in increments. That was easier to me than slowly adding it to the fabric, although either way works.
