Kohls Registry: WHAT A NIGHTMARE

Lorena, on December 18, 2016 at 11:23 AM Posted in Planning 0 17

I just want to let all of you brides-to-be in on the nightmare that was Kohl's. Some of my packages were never delivered, and customer service told me to call everyone I invited to the wedding and find out if they got me gifts. HOW RUDE! They (customer service rep & supervisor) couldn't give me any information as to how things were purchased, or who purchased them, and they refuse to send replacements. I addressed the issues on the BBB and they never answered my complaints in full. To this day (it's been 64 days since my wedding) I am still missing gifts, and I'm sure guests are out of hundreds of dollars. Please feel free to ask me questions, I am MORE than happy to share my experience with them.

If they weren't delivered how are you sure they were purchased and sent?

*Mrs. TacoCat- So I had wedding guest ask me how I was enjoying my new spice rack. My response was, "What spice rack?" She got a shipping email, but never got any other follow up emails that the gift had be misdelivered and returned. It took even longer for her to get her money back. On the registry, you can see that items have been purchased, but you have no access to any other information about the purchases. Most recently, a family member asked me if i received an item, which Kohl's now has no record of her ever buying, even though she has her Kohl's bank statement that has the purchase on it. They also proceeded to tell her a flat out lie that I can see who purchased things. Once again, I can only see that items are purchased. And that's it.

*windowschick- we have been calling and calling with no resolution- We keep being told to contact all of the wedding guests we invited and find out if they got us gifts.

Wow! So sorry for your frustration but thanks for sharing! I was thinking Kohl's would be a good option because they always have sales. Note taken.

Oh no! We are registered at Kohl's. I hope we do not run into the same problems.

Wow. I'm sorry you're dealing with that. I love kohls & haven't ever had issues with them but I'd definitely think twice before registering with them now!

Kohls shipping is super inconsistent in general. I ordered shoes before black friday and I got the email that it was delivered but I never received it! It took me over a week of making phone calls to track them down. Also, if kohls is delivering by ups, of you're not there when they try to deliver they will sometimes deliver to an authorized drop off location. That wasn't the case with my shoes, as they were usps, but it has happened to me with kohls before.

Wtf they are encouraging you to be so rude....and then it sucks because you don't have the items, can't send thank you notes, and guests have wanted money. Thank you for sharing so other brides know before they register!

We registered at Kohl's and had a great experience. Sad to hear yours was so bad! Hope you get your gifts soon. I'd be super upset.

I'm looking forward to getting the 10% back on gifts purchased.

Yikes! I'm so sorry you're having issues!! But yes check with your local post office because sometimes if you aren't home they drop them off there then the post office holds it for a while. Then if you don't pick it up, they send it back to kohl's.

I also can't believe they can't look up the orders off of your registry. I work at BED Bath and Beyond and I'm a bridal manager and we can look up orders for couples if they have questions. Hopefully you get everything figured out

    Hi,

Just wondering if this was resolved? My wife and I are having the exact same issue. No help from customer service whatsoever.

    Thanks

Still not resolved. It's been four months since our wedding and six months since the shower and we still haven't received the one gift. They also have no record of the purchase even though she used her Kohl's credit card which has it on the statement. We have tried on the phone and in person with no resolution.

I had the same issue with Kohl’s! People were buying stuff off my registry and I would get it in the mail and there was no information of who it came from and when I called costumer service they told me to call all of my guests because they aren’t allowed to tell me who it was from.

I am also having issues with Kohls and reading all of this makes me even more freaked out/upset. None of my items are being marked as purchased on the Kohls registry! I only know things are purchased b/c my mother and law called and said "hey ppl said they bought xyz things but they aren't marked as purchased" Now I have no way of knowing what was purchased and wasn't delivered, and no way for guests to know what is a repeat purchase, The customer services has been horrible. 4 more months until the wedding, what do we do? Cancel it?

I wish I had seen this BEFORE I made a wedding registry with them! Got married about 20 days ago now, (ish) and from being locked out of my wedding registry online, to not being able to find it on their website (me and multiple family members), to complaining to the store manager who said she'd call me once she spoke to corporate and now to this: we received a wedding gift with no idea who is it from! It has my address on it, no invoice or reference number, just a FedEx tracking number. I got off the phone with Kohl's customer service (don't get me wrong, he was super nice) but not at all helpful in telling me who it was from, just a "i'm sorry." If there is a clear tracking number on this box, how come you cannot tell me who it is from? I asked hi if he could pull up my registry and try that way, and he said he could only view my account, that he didn't have access to the registries. What a joke! I even went into the store (AGAIN), and the woman at the customer service counter told me there was nothing she could do for more, that they know it is a problem and she feels bad for all brides who create a kohl's registry! it is beyond ridiculous and I am seriously considering canceling my Kohl's charge, just to be done with them for good! I agree, what a nightmare! Future brides, be warned!!!

I had a horrible experience with the Kohl's registry as well. I originally had to create three registries because once created they were not able to be found by myself or any of my guests. I created a registry in-store with a Kohl's employee and the same thing happened. It later got escalated in their tech department and was fixed, but the issues were only beginning there. I was unable to see who purchased gifts, in order to write thank-you cards, and calling tech support yielded the same issue where they could not find my registry.

I recommend not adding anything to a Kohl's registry unless you are 100% sure you want the item...I returned a $140 unopened blender about a month after it was purchased, and was given a $40 gift card for the item.
