Kissing photo for STDs?

I've gotten mixed responses about the appropriateness of using a kissing photo for save the dates... The focal point is my ring and the "save our date" script with our actual faces just slightly blurred because of the photography. It's a professional photo (my favorite!) and there's a regular smiling photo on the back with our text.

I didn't even think twice about this until my sister jokingly said she wouldn't want to hang us "making out" on her fridge... anyone else struggled with this?

Not a fan of kissing pictures (or pictures on the save the date in general, which is probably an unpopular opinion). If pictures are used, I would rather see something that shows the couple's faces and their personalities.

Personally I did not choose a kissing photo but I'm not mortally offended by them!

Our STDs actually didn't have a kissing photo, although we had tons. My sister put one of our kissing photos on my bridal shower invites on the back. If anyone is offended at you kissing your FH, they need to get over it.

Not offended. But I always think its better to see the couple's face. I assume a handful of your guests won't know you, so it'd be nice for them to at least see what you look like before they meet you.

ETA: I think the picture you have in your avatar is much better.

I used a kissing picture. It was just the best picture that we had.

I never thought about people not liking a kissing photo. That was one of FMIL favorite Epic of me and FH. I personally don't care what picture you used as long as you were both dressed. I think that would be the one situation that I didn't hang it up! haha

We used one. But ours was much farther away and we chose it mostly because we loved the whole feel of the photo.

I think the one you're thinking of using is too close up. It wouldn't bug me but it is pretty much in your face. Do you have any that are more stepped back? I do like the one in your avatar, you guys look very happy and super cute.

Thanks so much for your thoughts everyone! I decided to get samples of all my options (including this one) printed and have our moms decide what's best to send out

That STD is amazing. You look happy. Do it! I'm more worried about the people who stand at their refrigerator judging other people's pictures...

If someone gets bent out of shape about a mere photo of a kiss, I can only imagine that at the wedding, when the words "you may kiss the bride" are said, they will stand up clutching their pearls and scream "NO you may NOT! My delicate sensibilities can't stomach such blatant making out!"

In all seriousness, though, you aren't the first person to have a STD that features a kiss. I personally think it's fine.

There's kissing on ours because I love the idea of my mildly homophobic family members getting this in their mail. In a sense, it's a tiny bit of wedding activism
