Kindly RSVP by...??

FutureMrsB, on September 10, 2016 at 6:05 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

We are getting married Dec 11th 2016. Our guests just received STDs this week. We sent them because the wedding is in holiday season and we had not publicly announced our engagement so I wanted to get the date our there to our guests before sending invites.

I was thinking of sending invites at the end of this month-first week of October, but I am not sure what to set the "RSVP by" date as because I know how wonky the mail gets from Thanksgiving week onward. If I say "kindly RSVP by November 20th" does that give guests enough time? Our guest list is small and I am offering paper & online RSVPs. My caterer does not need a final count til 5 days before our wedding.

I think that's fine. Personally I probably would've saved money on the save the dates and sent the invites a little early but that ship has sailed.

I think that they should have more than enough time to RSVP by November 20th

My wedding date is the day before yours. We are RSVP is due Nov. 19. We wants the date due before Thanksgiving because with the holidays people may be busy traveling and might forget. However, our final count is due 10 days before. I think anytime between 20-28 would work. That gives you a week or two track down stragglers.
