Kinda dress regret?

Renay, on September 12, 2019 at 1:20 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

Don't get me wrong, I love my dress and I got a great deal on it. I bought it in February 19 for my April 20 wedding. I bought it online through a shops sample sale for $400. Its a Maggie Sottero and was heavily discounted. Its comfortable, and looks great on. There are a couple small things I would change if I could (I wish it had pockets, was maybe poofier, and my mom doesn't love that its not white-white more ivory), and I do have to have a couple inches taken off at the bottom.

A dress shop in town is having a KILLER sale tomorrow... $800-$3000 dresses on sale for $299 or less to make room for another shipment.

Would I be crazy to go? I just thought that maybe I would fall in love with a dress that has my dresses missing elements... and then I could sell the one I bought as its still in the bag with tags and smoke/pet free environment.

HELP.

I say go! I bought a dress, had regret, and wound up finding a way better dress (that is Maggie sottero lol) at a different shop.

I would go and check it out.

You need to be happy with what your wearing. If you find out that your original dress is not what you want then you can sell. But if you find out that your dress is way better you can get reassurance. Good luck on your search!

I would definitely go. You might find something you like even more and for a good price!

I would go. You may find something you love more, or you may realize you love your dress more than you thought.

Do it. I bought my dress also but i kept looking because there was just something missing though I loved the dress. I followed my gut sent it back and have now found something more blingy which must've been what was missing in my minds eye. We will only get to look this good once....don't disappoint ya self go big. One chance at greatness.

If your budget allows you to, go right ahead! It's important for you to be 100% confident in your dress

I would go, can’t hurt to look. Obviously you can’t change the color of the dress you already purchased, but you could make it more poofy by wearing an underskirt or having crinoline sewn into your skirt. I’m not sure if they could add pockets or not, but can’t hurt to ask your seamstress. Personally I don’t think you’ll use the pockets on your wedding day. I’d be worried you could see my phone shape or a tissue poking out of the pocket or something silly like that in pictures.

This depends entirely on your budget— if you can afford a whole new dress if you fall in love with it — go for it. DONT factor in resale of your current dress into your budget there— there’s a lot of risk there, as it can take a lot of time to re-sell a dress, and you’ll never get back as much as you paid for it...so mentally instead of counting as cash from it, think of the eventual potential cash as a bonus! If it’s affordable even without the other dress factor— can’t hurt to shop.

Thanks to all for the help. I took two of my bridesmaids and found THE dress for $300!!!!! It needs a few small alterations (I'm short I'm the chest, and I want the sleeves shortened a tad).
I'm so much happier in my new dress. It has lots of glitter and lace. The picture on the left is my first dress, right is my new dress (being pulled back how I want it altered)
