I am doing one on sunday.

I have a paid babysitter (who some of the kids are already familiar with) sitting at the table, the kids are ages 5-10, and all of the kids know at least 2 other kids there. There are 7 kids total. There are also two young 4 year olds in attendance--I have seated them with their parents, but there is space for them at the kids table if they want to join.

Kids table has crayons and coloring books, coloring placemats, no lit candles, and kids being fed chicken fingers and fries. I strategically sat all of the parents at the tables adjacent to the kids table.

I think it will be a success and will allow the parents to enjoy a meal mostly without having to help along their kiddos. I'll report back what happens in my BAM!

I wouldn't do it for kids under 5, if lots of kids didn't know each other, or without a paid babysitter at the table.

Personally, I wouldn't sit children at a table with no adult supervision.

I think they should sit with their parents, and you should not have any childless non-relative adults at their table.

I wouldn't put kids at their own table. Some kids might not be good eaters and might not eat if they are talking or playing with the other kids at the table. Or the kids might not want to be separate from their parents, especially if they don't know some of the other kids. And it seems like it would create a lot of chaos. Imagine a kids birthday party table. Is that what you want at your wedding? Seating them with their parents will allow the parents to manage their behavior better and hopefully avoid the chaos.

If you have a lot of teenagers that know eachother, I think a "teens" table would be ok. They might enjoy some time away from their parents and can usually monitor their own behavior for different situations.

How old are they? We had a "teens" table for my cousins and it worked out perfectly fine

I think for older kids and teens it would be fine. But younger kids tend to want to stay with parents unless they all know each other. Also sit the parents at the next table over or within eye shot.

I am doing a kids' table! I am having a VERY small ceremony and reception at my church with less than 25 people (family only). The 5 kids obviously know each other very well and with such a small number of people, they won't get lost in the crowd or anything.

Nope, but we only have 4 kids at the wedding. 2 are ours and will sit with my brother and the other 2 will sit with mum or dad.

I'll be having roughly 60 kids at my wedding. I'm gonna set up a table for them to play, since weddings are so boring for kids. But I'll have coloring books, games, bubbles, etc. and after they finish eating, they can go play. This will give their parents a break, too. Smiley smile

We're doing it, so there's kid entertainment for them as well as kid meals, plates, etc. They're all excited that they will have they're own special table.

I love the idea of a kids table! I have been collecting arts and crafts for the kids to use the day of.

    Without parent supervision is tricky.

Great idea with strategically sitting their parents close by!

I've never been a fan of kids' tables, neither as a child nor as an adult.
