Kids Ages on rsvp

Chandra, on November 7, 2018 at 10:13 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 11
Okay weird question.
We aren't excluding kids for our wedding, but we need to know how old the kids are for pricing. There are some youngins that we arent sure how old they are. (I know we should probably already know this info...) I originally had a line of # of adults, # of kids under 10 # of kids 0-5 but that looked too cluttered.
Would it be okay to write on the RSVP something along the lines of "Please Note Your child's age for children 10 and under" ?
Is there a better wording?

I would shorten it. Next to children I would put: Note/write ages in the blank. Maybe in parenthesis.

How many families are you inviting that you think have children under 5? It might be better to contact them individually and leave this off the RSVP card.

How many kids are you unsure of the ages? I would honestly just reach out to them when they RSVP yes and just let them know you just need to know their ages to make sure they are getting the kids or adult meal.

We had kids pricing for our meals as well for anyone 8 & under. Instead of asking for kids ages, we just left our "meal options" as

    ___ Chicken ___Vegetarian ___ Kids Meal (8 & under)

    Worked pretty well!

Invitation (Front)Kids Ages on rsvp 1

This is what our venue insisted we do to keep everything straight! (It is a little cluttered, but she insists that it will work out better than leaving too much off) ...

I left out there are two tiers of kids. For our venue 0-5 is free and kids 6-10 are 12.95. I guess that's mostly why I was curious about wording.

I had a similar situation but just reached out the parents where I wasn't sure of the age. I didn't want to have the parents select a meal for their children (like indicating chicken, salmon or kids meal) as the adult meals were MUCH more expensive and I couldn't afford adult meals for all the children (I had 28 of them). So I just had the adults indicate their meal option; mentioned that a children's meal will be provided for all children. Then if I wasn't sure of an age, I just reached out directly to the parents. In most cases I knew if the child was older than 5 or not.

I would just call and ask on those that you aren't sure of. How many can there possibly be? Probably your parents can help with their sides of the family, also.

Yeah it might just be easier to get a hold of them after RSVPs. There are only 6 or so I dont know the age of.

I would just get ahold of them for their ages. I had to figure all that out for pricing the estimate for our venue because she told us 0-5 was free. You should also probably know then the amount of people under 21 (including those children), because they just get the soda price not the alcohol price!

That's a good point. I didn't even think about the alcohol part. I'll have to ask our venue if they have a lower price for that
