Keeping shoes clean during photos?

Alexandra, on April 16, 2024 at 2:27 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5

What does everyone do about their shoes while taking photos on grass/dirt etc? I know that the inside hem of my dress will likely get a little dirty, but what to people do about their shoes? That seems even more likely to get dirty. I'm looking into buying some kind of shoe protector on amazon - has anyone done this?

If you have a train, a loop at the end could be used when you don't want to bustle it. That would let you move around for short trips if you aren't ready to bustle it or don't want to do that.

there are protectors to keep dirt of the floor when going through houses for sale. Those might work. But if you have high heels, you might need some heel protectors to keep from punching through those.

While on grass, you (and your partner) can just carry your dress to reduce outdoor dirt. Before going inside for an indoor reception, you can place an outdoor mat to wipe shoe bottoms. Most brides dry clean their dress after their wedding. For shoes, it depends on the material, but tide wipes, Mr. clean sponges can work. I bought a suede cleaner and protector recently for other shoes. Or you can buy 2 pairs of shoes.

So I actually have another pair of the shoes I'm going to wear in a different color, so I think I'm going to wear those for pictures and then just switch into the other ones once it's time for the ceremony. I'm in NJ and we've been getting pummeled by rain/flooding so there is pretty much no area of grass that isn't muddy/soggy Smiley sad

The possibility of slipping with any covers on the shoes was a concern. You could get sneakers and have someone lay towels before you as you walk on the grass. Sorry. Just some ideas that come to mind.

As someone getting married on a farm, I have the same concerns.

The only solution I can think of, is wipes Smiley xd

And also unlikely we're doing shots of the soles lol
