Katie May Dress Alterations Questions!

Kirsten, on October 17, 2016 at 5:47 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4

I finally found my dream dress, its a Katie May Sienna and I love everything about it...except the neckline. I tried on a ton of dresses with a deep-V neckline but the Katie May Sienna (not a deep-V) was the one I ended up with because of the silhouette and overall feel. We're having a beach wedding and it felt right.

But now that I'm waiting to actually get it, I'm having second thoughts, mostly about the neckline. Its a neckline made for women with a bit more bust than I have and I'm starting to wish it were a V-neck. Its a silly problem to have to be fair, but I'd love to hear if anyone has done a total rethink of a dress neckline post-purchase, especially one with a low back. I'm really hoping I can have it altered to be more flattering for a flat-chested gal!

The picture below is NOT me Smiley smile But gives you an idea of what the neckline is now. Thoughts!!??

I love Katie May stuff. I will tell you, I am heavy chested. 32DDD her gowns didn't look great on me. Personally, I think deep v necks look amazing on girls who are smaller on top. That model has cups, she's not full chested. Wait till it comes in, try it on and see how you feel.

So pretty! I do wedding alterations for a living and if I may say, your seamstress can totally make this dress work for you. From taking in the bust to adding padded cups and doing a bit of "boob magic", there are definitely solutions. Now is not the time to be having second thoughts. A wedding dress is like a man; once you find "the one," stop looking.
