Just some thoughts about Dress Regret

vttn, on November 17, 2019 at 8:48 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7
I was so in love with the dress that I got but after about a month I started second guessing if it’s the one, especially with seeing so many different beautiful dresses on Instagram. When I looked on WeddingWire apparently many ladies experience the same feeling. The thing is even if I decide on buying a different dress, I’d honestly still want to wear the original dress at the wedding at some point. That leads to to think that I’m not really regretting the dress, I just want to have more than 1 dress for my wedding lol! This idea that we only have one chance in a lifetime to wear the most beautiful dress makes us freak out. We keep wondering is this the best possible dress on the planet for me.

So after seeing the trap that my brain is leading me into, I decided to still stick with the original dress, because I’m on a strict budget, and the ceremony+reception is only a few hours, I really don’t need more than 1 dress. Lol I’m jealous of my FH, he just went to the store and chose the cheapest suit possible and then he’s done

I had the same feelings and stuck it out with the dress I chose and every time I look at pictures of other dresses now I realize I made the right choice with mine! Nothing compares to it for me.

I think you’re going through what most brides do but you’ve made a good decision. I would suggest you try to stop looking at dresses or it will continue to happen. 😊

I had the same feeling after being torn between two dresses. Luckily after a month, I was able to try on my wedding dress last night at the salon and I was still in love with it and I knew I had made the right decision.

Omgness I said and am going through the same thing I considered getting a second dress as well lol

Even though when I look at the pictures of me in my dress I get butterflies and excited seeing others still make me stop and look, but I compare it to my dress lol most of the time when your doing wedding searches your phone automatically pulls up wedding dresses
Someone made a valid point though looking at the wedding dresses the women are all done up with hair and makeup etc, that may what we are more drawn to the big picture not necessarily the dress lol

I went through dress regret, but when I looked at pictures of me in the dress and every time I tried it back on I slowly started to hate it more and more until I couldn't stand to look at my dress. I ended up deciding to go back and pick a new dress. I tried on just about every dress in my budget and preferred style. I ended up choosing a dress that I had felt drawn to from the beginning but didn't choose because my mom and FMIL thought it was too plain.

If you find that you still want to wear the dress, it sounds like you're feeling like you didn't try on enough dresses, or there are just too many options. It seems like you still love your dress. I would wait until you dress comes in so you can try it on in you size and see from there.

I had the same feeling and lost my mind over the dress. I loved the first one so much, but the pictures I saw made me realize that this was not the dress for me or my venue. I was so obsessed with having that perfect dress moment, and could not face that I did not like what I chose. But, I went back, very embarrassed, to try on new dresses. I ended up finding the dress of my dreams and I am SO GLAD I changed dresses. I truly felt like myself in my second dress and after my wedding, I am still in love with my decision.

If you do not like it, do not wear it - trust me.

Exact. Same. Boat. My concern was my dress is on the plain side but thars ultimately one of the reasons I fell in love with it. I actually went back to 2 salons and tried about 15-18 other dresses and guess what none of them came close to MY dress. I know that was risky as I could have fallen in love w another dress but it didn't happen so i kinda know now for sure.
I am still considering having another dress though because mine will be hard to dance in.. sigh... If I don't find one though I'll tough it out for the night haha
