Just now noticed the wrong birthday on license...

Kari, on June 23, 2013 at 1:05 PM Posted in Planning 0 5

On 6/17 we went to the county courthouse and got our marriage license. She gave us a paper with all the information, which was correct, that we signed and then she gave us our license. We didn't catch until today that my birthday is wrong! It says 07/09 instead of 07/03! Its already cost us 100 dollars to get the thing, but does anyone know if Florida would charge because they messed up my birthday? Or if they even will? Would I need to get a whole new license and spend another hundred dollars? Ugh this is the LAST thing i need!

Thank you for any help!

Just take it back and tell them that they have to figure it out and fix it .. SOON. Obviously THEIR fault and they shouldn't charge you.

Yes. It can be changed. In NJ, they just file a correction. You're still married, so no worries. Do it tomorrow.

Go back to the courthouse and politely show them the discrepancy, they might just correct it on the spot instead of them being defensive about it, next time always check the paper before you leave the counter, human mistakes are unavoidable especially with the keyboard.

Yes, in Fla. you can get a corrected license. Do it sooner rather than later. There may be a small fee involved, but not full price.

That's nothing. Our pastor put the wrong marriage date on our license, and we never fixed it, and that was 25 years ago. Smiley winking
