JUST got engaged. STRESSED ALREADY!

abby, on April 17, 2017 at 4:32 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

I am a total stressball! I just got engaged March 26th, and was on vacation all of early April until last friday (so no planning talk, just celebrating).

We are currently trying to find a venue which I know is step one...

I need help finding a site (not pinterest) for something to help me find a good theme! ( I know I want boho chic/traditional) but I can't find a lot that help out.

- WHEN do I need to have my bridal party by if I am getting married (possibly) in June 2018? My old best friend and I are in a HUGE fight so I am slowly trying to figure out if she should be in it....

- Is this Fall too late for engagement photos?

WHAT do I have to worry about first???

Why no Pinterest? It has a ton of boho chic ideas.

Worry about your ceremony/reception venue first, without it you really don't have a date.

Also, you can take engagement pictures whenever you want while you are engaged. Start planning by setting a budget, then find a venue.

First of all relax! This is a happy time Smiley smile you should enjoy every second.

You should wait until like a year before the wedding some people wait long to tell people about being in the bridal party. A lot can happen in a year. And you don't want to have to take it back after you already ask.

I don't think this fall is too late for engagement photos.

Good luck and happy planning Smiley smile

There is no reason to stress about anything at the beginning. Everything will fall into place.

1st thing is budget & people! Make a mock guest list and have a number in mind. Then venue/ food/drinks depending if your venue covers all that. You can do engagement photos WHENEVER. It's your wedding! Use them for wedding stuff, or not. We are doing them, but won't use them for save the dates or anything. We just have no photos and it was included in our package. Everyone on here will tell you to wait forever to ask your bridesmaids. given you're in a fight, I'll agree, but I asked mine last month already so what do I know lol DON'T STRESS! You have tons of time and it will all work out. We took 2 months to NOT plan a wedding after getting engaged and I'm glad we took some "us" time because now it's wedding planning 24/7! Good luck!!

First take a deep breath. If you are this stressed out now this will be a long process for you.

You need a budget first...then a guest list..then a venue. Relax and enjoy being engaged. You don't need to make all of these decisions right away.

If you only listen to one piece of advice given, listen to not picking your bridal party til at most 8 months out! A lot of things can change between now and then and you don't want to regret asking someone too soon.

Use the tools Wedding Wire has to offer! The "Planning Tools" link in the upper right hand corner has a handy little checklist (with due dates based on your wedding date), a budget and a guest address tool.

Engagement photos can be taken at any time (especially if you're not planning to use them for your save the dates or your invitations). Also keep in mind that some photographers will include the e-pics for free in their wedding package, or at a discounted rate, so you may want to book your photog. before doing the engagement photos.

    Congrats, and welcome to WW!

Been there... I was totally stressed too... We have a two and half year engagement and i thought that wasn't enough time... lol & we were helping my sister plan her wedding which was 9 months after our engagement & my family thought that i didn't have a right to plan mine until hers was over with... so that was stressful.. No one should tell you that you cant plan or make decisions because someone else you are close to is getting married too.. that sucked..

But its a fun process, I am loving every minute of it. Don't let the stress overwhelm you too much, you do have some time to plan.
