Just got a spray tan trial...

MichiganBride, on July 12, 2017 at 1:50 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 20

I just got a spray tan trial today. If any of you have questions, ask away! I am happy with the immediate look but know it takes time to show fully. Just thought I would share in case anyone has been considering like me. I am very fair skinned and wanted a safe alternative to have a nice glow.

@Bettina D. I went to a lady who has her own business and she only charged $25, so very reasonable! And she did it by hand so it doesn't streak like a machine.

I love sprays tans and usually always have a good color from them. I'm a redhead so I was very nervous about mine at first. So happy you love the look so far!

@OG Kathryn it's pretty natural. It will get a little darker after 8 hours. I've only had it for 3 hours. I didn't want anything too drastic. There's a lot of color options.

I've always wondered about the color coming off on clothing, especially if you're sweating. How will that work? I'm thinking about getting one for my wedding next fall, since my (very limited) summer color will have faded by then.

@Kate D. It is most likely to rub off the first 8 hours before you can shower but then after you shower it is supposed to stay on like any tan until you exfoliate or it fades. I am wearing a light gray dress and I've been wearing it since after the spray tan and it is not on my dress and right now would be the most likely time for that to happen.

I'm having mine tomorrow! I hear you, fair skinned, but not risking or taking the time to real tan. Yours looks great!

A good friend of mine did it for her wedding last year. She did a high end one 4 days before the wedding so that it wouldn't rub off on her dress, however by the end of the night the entire inside of her dress was orange. It was hot and humid, but after seeing that, I won't risk it despite being really pale.

What was the recommendation for before your wedding? Like 1 day prior? 2 days prior?

@Future Mrs.B she said it depends on each person. She suggested at least one or two days. You don't want to do it day of because it won't be adhered to your skin yet. Everyone is different and some like their color better on a certain day which is why a trial is super helpful. I'm going to monitor mine every day to see which day I want to do it before my wedding.

Day two and it hasn't rubbed off on my clothes still! I showered last night and the water ran pinkish for a couple minutes and then was clear. I've had no streaking or clothing discoloration. So far so good!
