Just found out i am pregnant!

Amanda, on November 5, 2019 at 11:17 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14
I am trying to hard to be excited about being a mommy, but I’m so scared i won’t fit into my gowns. I will be 7 months pregnant at my wedding. I am on the thicker side, however everyone keeps telling me my dresses are flowy enough where the seamstress will make it work. And I’m also scared i won’t feel good on my wedding day looks wise... if i work out and eat right is it possible i can slim and tone down my arms and back?
i am all over the place and just scared. I just want to know i will be able to wear my dresses! Help!

Well a doctor would tell you, if you already worked out before pregnancy you can continue to work out while pregnant. However if you don’t they will probably advise to not start doing strenuous workouts. Walking and things like that will be fine though. As far as your dresses, which are beautiful by the way, a Seamstress will probably just raise the waistline to under your boobs as your stomach will need the room. You will look beautiful and will have that pregnant glow!! Congratulations!!

I would get a 7 month belly from amazon and that way you can see how your dresses will look.

I'll be 27 weeks at my wedding this Saturday. So I'm 7 months as well. It is TOTALLY doable. I just had to alter my dress a bit. I recommend drinking alot of water now and avoid gaining all your weight in the beginning don't be the I'm pregnant I need to eat for 2 that's the worst weight you can gain it's harder to lose. I've gained 13 pounds so my dress required little alterations. The way your dress is its looks loose around your belly which will be easier for your seamstress to manage. Mine was a little tricky but still I required minimal. Either way your wedding will be perfect and you get a little one to share it with and thats a blessing by itself. Feel free to message me too! Seriously. I've now gone through the wedding planning and about to go through the actual wedding being 7 months pregnant.

Also to add to my comment if you have morning sickness or anything you can lose weight in the first trimester (I lost 7 pounds) which is normal! You don't really start packing on weight until the end anyway. You'll bloat a bit so don't panic. Everything is very normal. If you eat right and do daily walking the weight gain is very manageable. You will be a beautiful bride.

Your comment was exactly what i needed to wake up to! And congrats on this weekend!!!

i was debating even putting my wedding off because I’m scared I’ll feel down about myself and how i look. I’m not a skinny or thin girl at all, as you can see in the pictures my arms especially, and that’s really all i want toned up and skimmed down a little is my arms and back. The rest I’m fine with the gain it will be covered. I just want to feel comfortable in the top half. My seamstress is very talented so i hope she can make it work.

the worst part is when people have found out their first response is, “what about the wedding!? Oh my!! Your dress” and then i panic. And then the next thing i heat is, “who cares about your dresses, your having a baby!!! Just get a different cheap one” and then i have to feel guilty for thinking to myself, no! I deserve to feel beautiful on my wedding day in my dream dresses, i would be so depressed walking down the isle in some last minute rushed dress after spending $3,000 on my other two.

You can tone up your arms and back during pregnancy! I did walking everyday and you can even carry weights like 5-10 pounds with you. Your boobs won't grow that much either if that helps you don't really start growing much until 25 weeks. People asked me the same thing on my dress and we even thought about pushing our date back but I'm so glad we didn't! You can do it and you'll forget all about your belly.

Imo, I look 6-7 months 🤰in my pictures.

We discussed it last night and DH said, “You look beautiful”.

He had also brought 🌹s with him when he returned from work and 🏃‍♂️errands.

The first gown will be a lot easier to alter than the second one, although it might end up a tad short in the front if you didn't order it long enough (belly will pull it up).

Definitely talk to your doctor first, but you can look for a low impact exercise class that will help you tone your back and arms. Barre is great for that, and the studio I go to even says it's ok for pregnant women on their website. I believe some places also offer yoga for pregnant women, etc. Congrats and good luck!
