What is the reasoning if any behind the date chosen for your wedding. For me there were a lot of significant happenings around that time frame. When we first met, it was late March to early April. When we first started living together it was late April, early May. When we moved into an RV to make ends meet it was late April, early May. When we decided to get Married it was April 11, 2017. My two girls were born in May and with mothers day in there too, it just seemed May was too busy. So April seemed like a better month. The particular date is so he can never forget our anniversary date. Lol. 4/20/20!!!! Can't wait to marry My best friend.

So cool that you had so many events happen around the same time! Our wedding day is Leap Day! I originally wanted to get married this fall, but when I saw Leap Day was a Saturday next year, I thought that'd be super cool to get married on since that rarely happens. FH loved the idea as well. We're planning to go on a big vacation every 4 years! I'm planning on Australia for the first "real" anniversary. Smiley smile

We choose for a logistical reason. My fiancée has returned to grad school and his summer break is August 1st until labor day. It wouldn't be possible for us to get married + honeymoon at any other time during the year unless we waited 2 years until he is done. As a result, we chose 08/08/2020 so that he has 1 week before the wedding off, and almost a month off after. We will take a 2-3 week honeymoon during this time! Also, 08/08/2020 looks super cool.... can't forget that date!

There's nothing wrong with working around a work schedule. Not everyone can afford to take time away from work.

Sounds logical as you stated. If that's what works for you then roll with it. Make the most that you can out of time you can get.

That's sounds very much like a special date and one hard to forget. The fact that your parents have been together 39 years on that date could be a sign of luck. But we all know it takes more than luck to make a marriage last.

Another Leap Day wedding here! I knew I didn't want a summer wedding; my best friend is getting married in late March and my baby sister is getting married in May. I needed a little wiggle room around those since there would be significant overlap in both guestlists.

Leap Day was available at the venue we wanted and we thought it was funny.

Our date is the anniversary of our first kiss. We were friends for a long time before that so we wanted to honor the moment everything changed for us. Plus, our first wedding anniversary will be 10/10/20!

My FH left the date up to me, he just wanted a fall wedding as much as I do. I chose the date, October 19, 2019 because it would have been my late grandma's 100th birthday. We were very close and I miss her. After my mom died when I was 14 she really helped shape the woman I am, then when my dad (her son) died when I was 17 she really really stepped up. She was a remarkable woman and I wanted to honor her

Awe, such a busy few months.
I wanted a fall wedding (best chance of really good hair days on the east coast, plus I didn't want it to be too hot), he wanted a Saturday wedding (not a Friday night), to make the pricing fit in the venue that we loved we had to do a Saturday afternoon - and there was 1x afternoon that worked lol.

We are both teachers and 6/27/20 allowed us a few weeks to prepare once school ends but left our whole summer ahead of us. Most venues had the date available and it's what worked best for us.

Husband's sister was our officiant and she lives out of the country, so we based our wedding date around the time that worked best for her!

We wanted March because it was the closest to warmer weather while still getting the venue’s “off season” rates. Turns out the Monday we wanted got booked by a company retreat while we were negotiating so we moved up our date a week... we got married on spring equinox which we think is pretty cool.

Our date is 4.11.20, which is the day before Easter. Originally we were thinking possibly a June wedding. However, my dad is in the military and I knew that summer of 2020 the rest of my family would be moving to a new duty station. I didn't want the wedding to be too close to the moving and packing. May was out because my youngest sister is graduating high school and my mom is a teacher. I was starting to panic but my mom suggested Easter weekend and FH and I decided it would be a great fit!
FH is a police officer and he accumulates leave and vacation verrryyyyy slowly. He just used some this summer to go on vacation with his family. We couldn't get married earlier than April otherwise we wouldn't really be able to have a honeymoon. It's important to both of us to go on a honeymoon right after the wedding. So 4.11.20 it is!

Our date is May 2, 2020. We chose that date for a lot of different reasons. 1) The venue I wanted was booked for April, I don't like the month of June and July is too hot and my bday. 2) We have children from previous relationships, our kids are scheduled to be with us on the same weekend which will be May 2. This is the biggest reason because the thought of us not having our kids there is beyond me. 3) A fall wedding would be nice but not considered because, well.. Go Gators! College Football Season.

We first became boyfriend and girlfriend on 05.06.2011, he popped the question on 05.06.2018 and we're getting legally married on 05.06.2020, our ceremony and reception though is being held on 05.08.2020 for the sake of if being a Friday but we still get to keep our 05.06 date!! Smiley laugh

    Congrats on your big day!

We are getting married April 25th, 2020! For us we were originally wanting to get married April 18th (our anniversary is December 18th) but the first venue we liked ended up GHOSTING us when we were trying to pay (WHAT!) but luck was on our side and we stumbled upon our new venue that is even prettier & cheaper! (Hallelujah) Unfortunately they were taken on the 18th so we just pushed out a week.

BUT the best part about our new wedding date is that it's actually a quote/meme from one of mine & my grandmas favorite movies - Miss Congeniality. So it's the perfect date!
