Junior Bridesmaid Boxes

MrsWH2B, on August 26, 2017 at 8:33 AM Posted in Planning 1 16

So I'm engaged- yay, and we've finally started planning.

Basically, all my bridesmaids know, but I'm making them boxes to officially ask them. I'm putting in nail varnish, bath bombs, mini champagne bottles, sweets, and Bridesmaid on DVD.

I have a junior bridesmaid (7) and a flower girl (3), that I'm giving boxes too. They'll probably be quite similar (obviously without the alcohol), so I want to put a DVD in that's suitably wedding-y/ bridesmaid-y, and wondered if anyone had any ideas.

    You are not getting married for two years You need to wait on selecting attendants. The whole gift box thing can put people on the spot You should politely ask each BM, and ask them what they are comfortable withe spending. With Junior Bridesmaid and Flower girl, you should talk to their parents, and ask them the same question.

    I also will comment, my son was in a wedding for his Godfather when he was almost 3. On the day of he when was supposed to be the ring bearer.... He was so freaking crabby I ended up driving him around because he wouldn't stop screaming and crying he needed a nap. Remember to have alternative plans when involving littles under age 5. Just saying from a mom who been there point of view.

    Karen I've already asked the people I want, It's my sister, two cousins I'm very close to and my best friend since we started secondary school, my junior bridesmaid is my fiances little sister, they're all really excited about being part of the wedding, and there's no way I'm going to change my mind. I don't really understand what you mean by what they're comfortable with spending, sorry?

    Jolane: they're really cute, and a bit different, so they won't already have it. Otherwise I was think something Disney princess.

    I was a bm at my dads wedding recently, 3 under fives that were meant to take part, only one made it down the aisle lol.

    My niece is going to be my flower girl and I got her a buildabear. My fh and I recorded our voices asking if she will be our flower girl so she can look back when she is a little older.

    @KatieM that is so cute.

    OP - I second the waiting part. But on the movies, I think Princess Diaries 2 or Father of the Bride would work. Although my nieces would probably prefer the Corpse Bride, haha.

    You have to know how much they are comfortable spending because they pay for their dresses, your bachelorette party, any gifts for you, any random things for your wedding.

    Build a bear is such a lovely idea.

    I thought it was normal for the bride to pay for things like dresses?

    Oh, fair enough. I've never paid for a bridesmaid dress before, I just assumed it was part of the cost of the wedding.

    Tbh I think they'll all be expecting me to pay, so I doubt they'll worry about that.
