Junior bridesmaid and flower girl

Zena, on July 3, 2017 at 10:54 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 18

Help! For my reception, my matron of honor, told me I don't have to announce my junior bridesmaid and flower girl at the reception They should be at the table already. She said it should be more of an adult thing..

What do you think?

I plan on announcing my FGs. It would make them feel special and included like the adults.

I would announce but some don't as the kids are normally first to get done with photos so that they can go unwind. I haven't been to a wedding where they did announce the FG but the Junior BM should be announced just like the rest of the BP

I was always told that if they're apart of the Bridal party you should announce them.

I would announce them, they are not any less important because they're children.

We announced our JRBMs (didn't have any flower girls). I'd ask them (and their parents if they are really young) what they want and if they are comfortable with it/ excited about it.

I've never been to a wedding where the flower girl/ring bearers are announced but juniors were always announced. Our FG and RB will probably hang out with their dad while we take pictures so it'd be more difficult to regroup just for the entrance

I announced my jr bridesmaid. She would have felt left out if we didn't.

We are not announcing anyone but if we were we'd include everyone. Not just adults.

I think its kinda rude not to mention them. I'm pretty positive they're considered part of the bridal party

I announced my JRBM and flower girls as well as the town crier. The children loved it as well as the adults seeing them again. It would be fine.

Both my nieces were JR BM and FG. JR BM was announced into the reception but FG was not b/c is was past her bedtime and she was with in-laws at the hotel.

ETA: JR Bridesmaid was 12 and FG was just shy of 2.

We had the JBM announced, the FG was not. She was only 4 1/2 so she did not go with the BP to take pictures after the chapel. She was there with her parents though Smiley smile
