June brides

Taylor, on April 5, 2020 at 4:31 PM Posted in New York Planning 0 2
Hi! We are supposed to be getting married on June 6th; however, we have feeling that won’t be happening. So we are trying to come up with a back up plan. We would still like to go get married on June 6th in a small ceremony but postpone our party to next June and do a “re-do” ceremony with the party!!

Does anyone know how if we can still obtain a marriage license for this June with everything going on? That could be the biggest thing standing in our way...well besides COVID19.

Right now, the NYC marriage license office is closed until further notice. I am not aware of upstate, so you'd have to check with the county you are getting married in...

We are the epicenter of the disaster, right now, which just makes things so difficult to predict.

    I'm sorry, and good luck.

    Hi Taylor,

I'm sorry that wedding planning is not going the way you expected.

Is your county clerk offering an online option for marriage licenses? If not, you'll probably have to wait until they reopen. Thankfully, there are nearly 8 weeks between now and then! From what I understand (I am NOT an expert), the current COVID-19 models/projections are assuming that we maintain social distancing through the end of May. Let's hope that some of these businesses reopen by June -- or at least that they identify a workaround in the meantime.

My fingers are crossed for online licenses ASAP in your area!
