Usually two months before, I think is right. Any longer it may slip the minds of the guests, but still gives plenty of time for arrangements. Unless you have a lot of out-of-towners, then maybe consider earlier invites?

Why are you sending wedding invites out so early?? They shouldn't be done until 6-8 weeks prior. We have the same date as you and we're not planning to send wedding invites out until mid April.

I'm having 3 showers (2 bridal, 1 couples) end of April and beginning of May. Those invites won't be going out for weeks still.

My mom and friends are hosting a shower the same day for me-she's trying to send them out by next week, the venue for the shower requires headcount two weeks before.

Your wedding invites are definitely going out way too early. But my MOH already sent invites for my 4/30 shower because some of the guests are OOT.

Yeah I'm two weeks prior to you and my wedding planner said our invites can't go out any sooner then April 5th, so that's when we're doing ours. Thats 8 weeks prior and the earliest we can send them.

As far as the shower goes.. I personally have no idea when they're sending them out, I just know it's being planned for April 29th. So just have faith they have it under control (:

Hi Sara! Congrats!! You know 1.5 - 2 months is good to mail invites out. RSVP's date should be 2 weeks prior to the event. Have fun at your Shower!

Mines March 25th and they were sent 2 weeks ago

I just spoke with my aunt and cousin and they have decided to have the shower on May 7th. The date was chosen because Mother's Day is on the 14th and weekend after that is my uncles birthday and after that is Memorial Day. So it's a date that's not so far from the wedding but still close enough.
