June 2021 Brides

Hi June 2021 brides! Checking in to see how everyone is doing. What’s left on your wedding planning checklist? Have you already made changes in anticipation of restrictions next year?

I’m currently working on selecting bridesmaids dresses and the music playlist. All vendors have been hired, but I still have a lot of work to do- like deciding on bridal accessories, vows, rehearsal dinner venue, flower girl dresses, makeup and hair trial, dance lessons, day-of timeline, etc.
I know we’ve all been feeling anxious, thinking about all that’s left to do and the challenges of planning with so much uncertainty. The hardest part is not knowing what restrictions we’ll be facing next year. I’ve struggled to find the motivation to continue planning at times. We sent out save the dates to 100 guests, but will likely have to make reductions in the coming months. We’re in Massachusetts and the restrictions here are tight- 50 people outdoors/25 indoors, no bar (served drinks only), masks on at all times, 6 to a table, no dancing, and an end time of 9:30pm. Far from our dream wedding. The question remains for so many- keep the date, or postpone in hopes of having the type of wedding experience we want?
What about you- will you postpone if these restrictions continue into summer, or make the necessary sacrifices?

Hello I’m June 2021 and starting to freak out a bit! All vendors are booked bridesmaid dresses ordered groomsmen suits picked out( not ordered yet). Still have to pick out bridal accessories, flower girl dress, rehearsal dinner location, cake tasting and food tasting being booked for next month so we can finalize our menu. Invitations picked out not yet ordered (waiting to see if after Christmas there will be a sale). Now we are deciding are plan b and maybe even plan c with the uncertainty of covid.

Hey there! June 2021 bride here. I’ve got most of the big stuff planned. I still have to book transportation as well as groomsmen attire, ect. I’m just hoping for the best at this point with the vaccine and hoping we are able to keep a guest count of around 100 people in FL. I also think we will know more in January so hopefully things will start to get better soon.

Hi Kayla and summer brides!! We got married in PA in August and decided to make it work with the regulations. Heads up is that white tents go fast. We moved everything outdoors (rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception) and luckily got tents for all. If I could do it again, I would have gotten a tent company much earlier. We used Party Plus if you are in PA and they were amazing!! Hope this helps and cheering you ladies on from afar ❤️

Hi Katie, Congratulations! We were having an outdoor ceremony, followed by an outdoor tented reception from the start, so we already have a sailcloth tent rental secured. The cocktail hour is supposed to be indoors, but we’ll see what the restrictions in the summer will allow. We’re in Massachusetts where restrictions are currently ridiculously strict. Hoping for lighter restrictions come summer!

Such crazy times! We sent out save the dates last month to about 50 people (we cut our guest list from 80). I’m ok with 50 because the extra 30 were mostly extended family or people I don’t see very often. I think right now my venue is down to 25 capacity, which would be really tough, but I’m hoping that will change by June with the vaccine. If not we’re still getting married at the venue and it will just be small. Honestly, it might be good because I get really nervous standing/talking in front of big crowds!

Most of our vendors are booked but I need a hair/makeup person. It’s typical to do your trial the day of your bridal shower, right? We haven’t even really planned that at all so I guess I’ll hold off on that.
My dress came in this past weekend and that was really exciting! I didn’t realize we have 3 fitting appointments (alterations)!

    Hi Kayla!

I think that the next couple months will be really telling for us in regards to when COVID restrictions will be lifted. Our guest list is about 220 and we are moving forward (for now) as if things will be okay. We will evaluate again in February/March to see if our “dream wedding” plans can still go through. Illinois is also pretty tight with restrictions and it will honestly be virtually impossible for us to downsize to fit COVID restrictions. Our families are pretty big. If restrictions aren’t lifted, my fiancé and I have talked about eloping on our wedding date with close friends and family and then postponing the reception to next year.
We’ve pretty much booked all of our vendors and I’m really hoping it works out for us but we’re not silly enough to think we’ll outwit a pandemic. Essentially what I’m saying is, continue to plan your “dream wedding” as long as you can without losing out on money. We are still over 6 months out and a lot may change! But keep a back up plan in your back pocket. Hoping for the best for all of us summer brides!
