Just Said Yes June 2020

Hello friends,

My name is Melanie and I am getting married June 13th, 2020. Its hard to believe how quickly it is approaching already. Does anyone have tips on how to stay on track with the checklist? I feel overwhelmed already even though I have over a year but I want it to be perfect and know that if I wait any longer its gonna come up so much quicker.

Thank you,

Melanie

My parents are giving me an answer of how much they’re willing to help. And also don’t know what kind of budget to set with wedding cost being more expensive then when they were when they got married

Awesome! Since you have so much time, just start looking at venues and different packages. Do you want an all inclusive venue that does the catering, etc? I would start there! That will help you figure out what your budget would be. Just start reaching out to different venues and asking for quotes. For some reason, I LOVE doing that lol.

Hi Melanie! Welcome to WeddingWire and congrats on your engagement! Your budget definitely is a great place to start! Do you have any ideas for your guest list size yet? From there, working on your wedding planning to-do list based off of the balance of your budget and vision is key. Will you be getting married near where you currently live or somewhere else? Smiley smile

Yes I am looking at venues actually but since we previously moved out location from NC where we live to NY where my family lives I don’t want to fall in love with a venue again and not be able to have it there. That’s where I am stuck

Before you start planning, actually plan out how you are going to plan out your wedding. I know that sounds silly but there is actually a really good article about it here https://www.dcengaged.com/blog/work-life-wedding-planning

First decide when you have regular time to plan, then attack how you will use that time to have everything planned in time.
