July and August Brides Who Have not Postponed

Brittany, on April 10, 2020 at 10:38 AM Posted in Community Conversations 4 36
My fiancé and I are getting married on July 11th and not postponing at this point. Our venue has said that they are only rescheduling through end of April right now. If this goes past the May first, they'll reschedule the weddings in the first two weeks of May, etc. and work forward in order but they anticipate my date being fine. Thag said, with so many people postponing I wanted to create a space for those waiting it out.

According to the IHME projections, things are improving. Nothing wrong with taking it day by day!! It's stressful, but it's a fluid situation and nothing is definite. Hope you're all doing well. 😁

I completely agree with you. Taking it day by day is best. Plus even though time goes fast it's only April. Good luck!!!

July 25th and not postponing just yet. I'm aware it may be needed, but just taking it day by day and decided to wait until the beginning of May to consider options. Even then might be too soon for me to feel strongly one way or another what to do, but I'm hoping we have more information then.

If I were to postpone, I would have to go for next year and same date. 07/11

Same date, and we were given the same advice. I think waiting it out is fine for now.
Right now all we can do is try to stay healthy and hope for the best! ❤

We're also July 11 and are not postponing. I plan on sending out our invitations at the end of this month. We did put a disclaimer on our website that says we're watching the situation and will update them if we are forced to postpone, but otherwise, we'll be seeing them on the 11th! I'm optimistic that everything will be fine in July. Getting the guys fitted for their suits may be a little stressful if nothing opens until June, but we'll figure it out.

I'm also July 11th and we're not postponing mostly because we want to start a family right away. My venue had rescheduled a non wedding event originally planned for March to May 30 so that makes me hopeful that we might get to have our wedding as planned. I'm wanting to send invites out mid May and depending on tje

We're set for July 18th and still waiting. I need to reach out to my venue to find out their plan for reschedules. Currently they're closed completely through late May (with a skeleton staff). If we do end up needing to postpone, we would elope in the backyard on our chosen date and re-do the ceremony with the party around the same time next year.

July 17th— haven’t postponed and are hoping we don’t have to. My venue isn’t postponing any June or July weddings at the moment anyway, but it is still super stressful to not know. I really need to stop reading the news, but I can’t. I read today that NYC didn’t have as many Covid ICU visits and they were hit the hardest —so I’m hoping it just improves from here!

Same, waiting it out day by day and trying my hardest to be hopeful and keep planning little things to consume my time. I HATE that I tend to focus on the news, just would love to be in my happy wedding bubble with no worries! Praying hard these new projections of things getting better are a good sign!! JULY 17TH! Smiley ring

I think this is such a smart move. We have a May 30th wedding that we are pretty certain will not happen as planned, but we don't see the point in rescheduling now to a future date that also lacks clarity. We are waiting as long as we can before deciding, so that if/when we do decide to postpone or alter our plans, the alternative that we come up with is as well informed as it can be.

July 25th and feeling uncertain it’s hard especially living in NYC. I don’t want to stress out when it gets close plus unfortunately me and my fiancé have COVID 😔. Feeling horrible about EVERYTHING

Hi! We're date twins! I totally understand the stress! Everyone's situation is different but for us, FH and I have decided that all that matters to us is our love and that we will be married on 7/11 no matter what! Our back up plan is to have a limited 10-person wedding which would just be our parents, siblings, officiant, photographer, and us! I am so lucky that our wedding is so much in our control because we are using my parents BEAUTIFUL backyard and already doing things super DIY so the only thing that would really change is having no friends, but it's about us anyways, so we are totally ok with that, friends can look at pics later! We would change our catered buffet to have them just drop the prepared food off and have fam clear their own plates and make their own drinks lol! FH has professional music producing under his belt so music would be taken care of with songs edited, and playlists made before. I'm a pastry chef so I'm making my own cake, so really we are super ready to downsize if need be. Obviously best case scenario is we have our full wedding as originally planned but if that needs to change, c'est la vie Smiley heart

Things are slowly improving each day. Although the waiting game is not fun, I think it will all be ok in the end.
