July 2020 Invites

Amanda, on May 16, 2020 at 2:12 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 8
Its getting close to the time where I need to send my invites out for my July wedding date, but I'm stuck if I send as is or if I include a note saying we'll be in touch if anything changes...

This COVID-19 stuff changes all the time and I don't know if everything will be allowed at that time. Guest list isn't more than 50, but still I'm stuck.

I would add the note. It might be comforting to your guests to know you're at least thinking about it, and it will be easier for your guests to change their plans if they know ahead of time that they may need to.

I don’t know what state you’re in but before my venue called summer weddings off due to us still being on lockdown I was going to put a note. I actually made a scan code to let guest know my plans... but.... didn’t get a chance to send out. Basically the code went to a invite that would either have a date change or same date! I thought it was a way for me to announce my decision in a timely manner/ppl wouldn’t be calling me

I’m in the same boat as you! We just sent out our invites this week and our suite included an insert addressing the situation and how we’ll be handling it, hope this helps! Fingers crossed! July 2020 Invites 2

Our venue told us Friday they don’t expect to be able to have events until August (Albany NY), so we are planning on postponing.

We already had an announcement for weeks that we hope to have the weeding in July but are monitoring. We talked about giving people a 3rd option to RSVP: streaming instead of saying no or yes. Id recommend getting people’s email in your rsvp either way so you can easily get them an update between now and July.
I’ve sidetracked, back to your real question, yes I think you should include a note unless you anticipate everyone getting the message another way. I feel like it’s the new etiquette, even though it should be obvious to anyone receiving an invite.

We are July 25th and per our venue, vendors, friends, etc we are continuing to hold out. All we want is the mask rule to be lifted 🙍🏼‍♀️ We are adding an insert with our backup date in the RSVPs
