Jr bride and jr groom

FutureMrs.N, on August 2, 2017 at 2:21 PM Posted in Planning 0 42

I want to do a jr. Bride and jr. Groom at my wedding since we have such huge families. The jr bride and groom would walk down the isle before me and it's so cute. I want my niece ie "jr bride" to have a big beautiful dress and veil. Do y'all think this is over the top or cheesy? It's typically done when you have a big family that you want incorporate in your bridal party.

I've never heard of this.. I've only heard of junior bridesmaids and additional flower girls.

Why? I mean, it's your wedding and obviously you can do whatever you want but I don't understand gathering up every possible person and adding them to the BP.

    What Ashley said.

I mean, it wouldn't affect me as a guest. I would just wonder why, but that's about it. If you want to do it, then rock on.

Isn't there some weird history behind a Jr. bride/groom?

I am having a baby bride and baby groom that two of my nephews will pull down in a wagon. I have nieces and nephews that I wanted in my wedding. It is your wedding, I say do it! A lot of people say there is no point or need for this. And while there really is no point, it is something that some people do. And kids are a HUGE part of FH and my life and I would not want my wedding any other way. But some don't even want bridesmaids and groomsmen. It just depends on the person. There is no right or wrong answer. My baby bride is wearing a little white poofy dress. No veil though. But she is only 1, haha.

I had never heard of this before WW. I think it's a little creepy. Sure, it's the same dress a flower girl would wear, but the thought of a child bride just freaks me out.

I think most people just have multiple FG and RBs instead of calling them Jr brides and Jr grooms. A lot of venues don't let FGs drop anything anymore and no one on their right mind gives their real rings to a small child. Deck them out however you want (I'm all for letting kids be fancy!) but not sure I like them being called something other than FG or RB.

I mean, the bride and groom get married and presumably consummate the marriage soon after. Not something I want to see kids associated with!

I've never heard of this and it does seem "cheesy" to me, but since it doesn't affect the guests either way, I guess do what you want?

I'm creeped out by it as well. I can't explain exactly why, but it's odd to me.

Put them in whatever you want them to wear, but call them a FG and RB.

    (just being honest)

I agree with many PP's who find it creepy. If you want to, it's your wedding, but it is a bit of an unsettling idea to some.
