Joint father/daughter & mother/son dance songs

What style of music are you looking for?? The first song that came to mind was "Because You Loved Me" by Celine Dion... Also "I Hope You Dance" by Leann Womack... I'm sure there are tons that would work, though!

I think that's a good idea. i get bored at a wedding with all those dances. i want to get up and talk to people or dance myself. so i am not dancing with my dad (he is losing his mind) and fh has a very close relationship so they are dancing. i decided that i will sing the national anthem since we are getting married on the 4th.

I LOVE this idea!! Very cute. Maybe I won't ugly cry as much if we do it this way LOL

@Cristi & Ryan - I especially like "I Hope You Dance" . Not really looking for one particular style, but I guess the preference would be toward either classic rock or country/folk. Also I prefer male voices. Keep the ideas coming!

I'm doing this. The song we decided on is "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole.

We are doing the same thing!! But FH sister since his mom passed...we are doing stand by me but the version by seal

@Ashley - Lol yeah, I'm not th biggest in being the center of attention either. I also just like this idea because I don't know how much guests really care to watch these dances and I don't want to bore guests. Also, FH and I will be doing a very short (60 second) surprise dance directly after to just get the party started.

There is a version of I hope you dance by Ronan Keating that I love (and used at our wedding)

We will be dancing to When you wish upon a star, by Billy Joel from Pinocchio. its short, doesnt get too sentimental and lets there be some childhood whimsy.

Unchained Melody is so timeless and classic. I think that would be a good one!

@OP I'm looking for the exact same thing as you and same genre. I'll let you know what I find. I've been looking at a lot of Ray Lamontange songs

We were going to do this, but DH's mom wasnt sure how her hip and leg would be feeling so they decided not too. But we were going to dance to I'll Be There... Jackson 5. I toyed with Mariah Careys version, but ultimately went with Jacksons.
