Jewish/other Sunday brides...

Mikel, on September 4, 2011 at 9:49 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

Did y'all have issues with people complaining about the wedding being on a Sunday? We've had a few guests complain...but since we're having a Jewish ceremony there's really no way we can have it on Saturday. We plan on starting the reception by 6pm so that we're done fairly early for the in-town guests. How have you dealt with it?

I am Jewish and when we were first planning I had the same dilemma with people not wanting to be at a wedding the night right before they had to go to work/school.... The only way my fiance and I dealt with it was by booking the wedding on the Sunday of labor day weekend to ensure everyone had Monday off :/

But stick your ground and don't let people bring you down. I have been to plenty of Sunday night weddings that are still beautiful, fun, and energy filled. People are there to celebrate you guys, not get hammered, and I don't think most people are in bed at 8-9pm on a Sunday so have fun, and enjoy! People will have a great time!

We had a jewish wedding, and just found a very relaxed rabbi who was okay doing a saturday evening wedding. We started at 6pm, and the sun was mostly down then.

My brother is doing a jewish wedding however, he's doing it at 3pm on a sunday. Which does give me sometime to get home considering it's a 3 hour trip one way. I'm really not a fan but to each their own.

I am having a Sunday wedding. The only reason I am having a Sunday wedding however is because my venue says we dont have enough people to have a wedding on a Saturday night. On Sunday the ceremony will start at 11 and end at 1130. The cocktail hour will be form ****, dinner from ****, and the reception will be from 130-430. It is a bit of a bummer that it is before people have to go to work/school, but I am having it earlier so that people can go home and chill out afterwards.
