Jacket or No Jacket? That is the Question!

Few things look more dapper than a dressed up man. But which one looks better: jacket or no jacket? Which style do you prefer?

Suit up and keep talking about men’s wedding attire in these discussions: Tuxedo, suit, or something else?, Tie or Bowtie?, and What color suit?.

My FH will be wearing a jacket for the ceremony for pictures, will probably take it off for the reception though since our wedding is in the summer

Personally, I don't think anything other than a suit (jacket and pants) or a tux is appropriate for a wedding. FH took off his suit jacket when we got to the reception, which was totally fine. But I'm not a fan of jeans for a wedding or vests without jackets. I think it looks silly.

My FH is wearing a jacket but the groomsmen are not. But I’m sure he will take the jacket off at the reception

I love the no jacket look and wish my FH could pull it off! He’ll be wearing a jacket since he’s a bigger guy and the no jacket look doesn’t work for him.

Since we were married on the beach, we went with the no jacket, untucked linen shirt look. I loved it on him. Something about a suit just seemed too formal.

I feel like this would be a good way to differentiate a groom from his men, but I've never seen it in real life, Macy! What color jacket is your FH wearing?

Definitely jacket! I think the only time no jacket is okay is at an extremely casual wedding.

I love the look of a jacket, but our wedding is more casual and outdoors in the summer, and FH runs hot! I suggested the option of a vest and rolled up sleeves, which would definitely mesh with our “laid back” vibe, but I also really just love the guy all dressed up in a full suit! Decisions decisions.......

Mhm, rolled up sleeves and a vest is also a very viable and very handsome option, Stephanie!

Some might call me a glutton for punishment... I'll be in a 3-piece grey suit. In an outdoor ceremony, in the middle of summer, in Australia. Pray for me.

Some people can pull off the bow tie and suspenders look smoothly and more power to them. I am not one of those people. I am not currently, nor have I ever been, a member of a bluegrass band, so I will stick to what I know works for my style.

I like the look of a jacket but it doesn’t fit our casual beach wedding. So FH will just wear a white button down.

I like no jacket! FH did this for engagement pics, but he’ll have a jacket for the wedding.

Oh my goodness, Jack, your comment had me lol-ing so hard! Smiley laugh I'm sending you good vibes so that your non-bluegrass band self won't faint at your own wedding!
