Jack and Jills, Bridal Showers, Stags, etc.

TiFille, on January 2, 2009 at 5:07 PM Posted in Planning 0 3

Could someone please tell me what the exact differences are between a Jack and Jill and a bridal shower/stag party? The bridal shower, and gifts received, are only for the bride? Same with stag parties, exept for the groom? Jack and Jills both go and are the gifts monetary? I just want some clarification..I am getting different answers. Also, you get one or the other right: a bridal shower/stag party OR a Jack and Jill??? Thanks everyone!

Jack and Jill Parties are for both guys and girls and you get gifts toward you and your fiance (both male and female) I think that these are becoming more popular so that both the bride to be and groom to be can be involved and feel included.

The bridal shower is only for the bride and usually includes gifts for her. As for which you get, you can get whichever party that whom ever decides to throw you. Mothers and bridesmaids tend to throw an actually bridal shower, where as co-workers or friends tend to throw the Jack and Jill parties.

    I hope that helped.

    Good Luck

I know you received an answer about the Jack 'n Jill parties - so here is an answer about Stag 'n Does.

A Stag 'n Doe is a party that is traditionally thrown by the wedding party for the couple to help them with the finances of the wedding. They can include a fundraiser like a silent auction and such.
