Ivory vs ivory over a light gold

Jazmin, on January 30, 2018 at 1:39 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 22
I tried on an ivory over light gold Maggie sottero dress but now two days later I feel the light gold makes the ivory look slightly dirty from the back?? Thoughts? I’ve attchaed my dress and the dress in only ivory

Hmm. My dress is ivory over gold (Allure) but it only has one ivory layer so the gold really shows through. I agree with you about yours - with too many ivory layers the gold gets lost and looks a little dingy. If it comes in ivory/ivory I would go with that.

I don’t feel that way towards it. What are your wedding colors? That and the lightning at you venue will add a new appearance to it. I love the dress

Is this Maggie Sottero Saffron?? If so, this is my dress as well! I tried on both but like the Ivory better. I really don't like gold, and its no where in my wedding themes so it was an easy choice for me!!! Overall I agree with you, it does look a little dingy in the back. Go for the Ivory! You won't be disappointed!

Thanks! Yea, I love it too but so worried that the color makes it look worn...the venue has dark wood walls, very old and vintage like but our wedding colors are steel blue and light plum

I Think it will look wonderful but ultimately you have to go with your gut. If you really feel it looks worn, then go with the ivory/ivory one.

If you feel unsure, and you are going to worry about it, get the dress that makes you less concerned. You want to be feeling fabulous and not worry about your dress on your wedding day!

I actually prefer the ivory over light gold but it is totally up to you. I think that it creates a softer, more romantic look.

Thanks all! I’m still super torn! I do love the romantic feel of the light gold but i worry about the stained look - I’ve decided to book an appt to try the dress on in ivory so I can be super sure! I’ve already said yes to the dress on Sunday so I’m hoping I do like the light gold after trying the ivory otherwise I’ll have to call my boutique to see what they can do about the order...

I actually have a 2nd appt to confirm that I want this dress. Its very beautiful! I think the ivory over ivory is stunning. My boutique only has the ivory over the ivory. I wish I had the option to try on the light gold. I may be saying yes to the dress this Saturday! Good luck to you!

I'd like to thank everyone on here for there support! I ended up going to a different bridal boutique to try the dress on in Ivory, and I fell in love! I called my boutique and had them change the dress color to Ivory. I'm officially ready! I'm so excited and appreciate everyone's feedback!

You were right! It’s gorgeous in the ivory! And I feel like I popped more and no issue with feeling like the dress was dirty slightly in the back! I’m so excited for us! Yay! 😍☺️😎👰🏻

Hey, so I was in a similar situation but I don't have time to fix mine. I ordered a dress that I thought would be simply ivory, but it came in ivory lace with a champagne underlay. It turned out beautiful and worked out well. Ivory is beautiful but for me it was too harsh against my skin tone. I much prefer a little champagne or light gold!
