Hey everyone, this seems to be a common question on here and I'm needing some advice. My dress is ivory lace with a champagne underlay. But, other than my obvious weight gain in between try ons, every picture seems to look different color wise because of time of day/lighting :/. So, I'm confused and having a hard time figuring out what color veil to get. If I get the veil color pictured, would this be too much of a contrast? I feel like a champagne veil would just look odd. And, does anyone have recommendations on types of veils. I also could look into a veil with beading (not interested in lace) but only tried on plain edge veils. Veil 1 supposedly is best to be worn just coming straight down from a bun if that makes sense (that is what the woman told me). I kind of like veil 1 but I want my veil to go over my bun if that makes sense and kind of cover my shoulders and don't know if this style would work for that...it looks kind of odd. Veil 2 seems to not give me enough volume or length, but a lot of my friends liked it. Veil 3 a lot of my friends did not like because it covered the train. So color and style are my issues? I really appreciate everyone's time and advice in advance! Any advice helps!

I decided against wearing hair piece, but earrings and the necklace will be the same.

I dont think any of these veils looks like the right one for you. I think you need a little something on the edge of the veil but the length of the 2nd one seems perfect. I would also think with how beautiful your dress is a lighter veil would work good

Veil 3 is the most current looking, it does not hide your dress. However, it is too long, it should be no more than 12" longer than your dress.

I just ordered a veil similar to the one in this picture. It's an angel cut which I loved that it looked full but was only one tier. Have you tried any in this style?Ivory Lace With Champagne Underlay - Having Issues Finding Veil (picture Heavy) 6close upIvory Lace With Champagne Underlay - Having Issues Finding Veil (picture Heavy) 7

Oh wow, I didn't even know there was that rule. Seems to me I haven't found the perfect one yet?

So, I should keep looking? So a finger tip veil with beading? Lace would be too hard to match. Oh ok, just saw a post saying the veil should not contrast too much with dress so I'm confused.

Maybe something like this with a small beaded tip would work. And I jave seen beaded veils with lace dress and they look fine. Just as long as the colors are to far off it is good. Try closing your eyes and picturing yourself walking down the isle, what do you see yourself in? There is no wrong answer to your question since you will look like a vision in any of them.

No advise on the style but if your lace is ivory I'd be looking for an ivory lace. My dress was champagne with ivory lace and the champagne veil they put me in at the store (I didn't end up wearing a veil) looked off.

Do you by any chance have any pictures you can share of your dress and veil if you feel comfortable? The boutique/designer said it was ivory/champagne, so I'm just going off that. The chapagne looks really dark in some pictures and really in others so I have no idea!

I didn't end up wearing a veil at my wedding so no photos there. I'd share a photo of my dress but since the new rules restrict us from ever being able to take any photo down I'm not comfortable doing so.

This is the link to the dress I wore. Under product info it does suggest wearing an ivory veil with the dress. If you scroll through the reviews you can see some photos of brides with veils in the dress.

I should have mentioned the clasp on my pearl necklace and my earrings are pearls with some gold interwined in it and I feel like beading or jewels might look weird together?

I think a simple fingertip length veil with subtle beading or trim would be beautiful.

If you like the first and want to wear it a different way then recommended then go for it, there shouldn't be rules you have to follow. As far as the color I had a champagne dress and I did an ivory veil with ivory lace and it looked great together in my opinion. I like the first one with the layers and volume as well. You need to do what is best for you and what you like.

I don't even know where that rule comes from either. I see the same thing as well. Do you have suggestions on length or plain vs. beaded? I'm so conflicted over a darn veil.

I like the length of veil #2. You can attach the veil anywhere on your head that you like. I personally preferred mine on the top of my head so that it framed my face and created a little volume.
