I've spent "A thousand years" trying to think of a song that matches!

Jimmy and Danielle, on April 8, 2014 at 3:41 PM Posted in Planning 0 24

I love the song "A Thousand Years" with lyrics as my processional song, but I can't find a song I like for the wedding party to walk down the aisle to beforehand. I want it to flow easily from one to the next with the same sort of vibe, but I also want my entrance to be slightly dramatic. If any of you are having or have had a similar problem, help a sister out!

Perhaps "So this is Love" from Disney's Cinderella (there are lots of verions out there, I'd recommend an instrumental version)

I would say go with a waltz... or at least something in 3/4 time. I love A Thousand Years as well, and it's in 3/4 time so if you want the songs to flow easily, then at least have the same time signature of the music. (Hopefully that makes sense... I'm a former band geek so I know music terminology)

I'm just having the traditional bridal party march for them and then the music will stop, mine will start, he will ask everyone to rise, and I will start walking in at 21 seconds (once the music speeds up). IDK what it will sound like though LOL. Never thought of the 2 going into one another!

I like to use "All I Have" by Beth Nielsen Chapman for either walk..

Then after being pronounced "husband and wife" ..Jackie Wilson - (Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher And Higher) just for a well known fun exit. Or the chorus to "Ain't no mountain High enough" D. Ross--of course I could suggest 10,000 more.

I myself am using the song "A Thousand Years". Here is what I am doing for it and feel free to copy!

First off. I am using the song with Steve Kazee Pt 2. So search Christina Perri Ft. Steve Kazee - A Thousand Years Pt 2

My bridal party will walk down from the start of the song, up until Steve Kazee sings - Reason being is the part that Steve Kazee sings is almost like my FH is singing to me while I'm walking down the isle. Thats how i picture it anyhow.

I already went over the timing with my DJ & Officiant and its perfect.

Plus, you have a LOT of time until you have to decide this. And trust me, I changed my mind on just about everything up until 6 months prior

    Hope this helps!!

I am actually using an instrumental version of A Thousand Years as my walk down the aisle song! It's by the Piano Guys and it is beatuiful. I am just doing a simple classical song, Cannon in D for parents, and bridal party. They flow very nice together! Great choice in that song!

Danielle -- I thought of doing something similar -- question.....are you just having them cut off the song once you reach the front or are you actually letting the entire song play out?

I'm having all the BM and me walking in to A Thousand Years. I love that song and didn't want to cut any part of it out but at the same time didn't want to stand up at the front waiting for the song to end.

Im sure if you come in at the right moment your entrance will be dramatic. Im having the same song for my entrance with the words and the doors are opening as soon as she says "one step closer" lol.... Ice practiced walking n everything.....but to answer your question im having the music fade into my entrance song

They are going to fade the music a little bit, tell the guests to rise then start up with the part I wanted

I love your answers, thank you! I'll probably either play the entire song before they start or do the instrumental version first and then the lyrical version. You all are wonderful
