Its my turn- Double Digits!

Cassi, on July 5, 2019 at 8:55 AM Posted in Planning 0 36

I have been dying to make this post! I started this journey at 420 days and today marks 99 days! There have been so many ups and downs (not necessarily wedding related just life in general). I contemplated pushing my date back due to a loss in my family but we pushed through. I can't believe we are only 99 days out! Where are y'all in the wedding planning process? How much longer until you walk down the aisle?! Smiley laugh

Im currently trying to find a new photographer.... issues with the one we booked in January. Other than that, everything is booked, we still need to finish a few signs, finish the centerpieces, send out the invites and a few other things.... im so excited and can't wait!

So exciting! I was there not too long ago! At first it seemed like time was still moving slowly but now it's coming up so soon! 57 days left for me. I still have two small DIY projects and I'm taking my original dress back to a different seamstress to see if she can make it work. I still like the second dress I bought, but the straps bug me so I'm going to see if she can fix the first dress that another seamstress messed up. I'm okay going either way, but I'm excited to see what she can do with the original dress. I LOVE your flowers!

Congratulations Cassi! I don't know how many days I started with but I'm at 63 days and nervous as all get out. I'm creating a to-do list this weekend so that we don't forget anything

Oh no what happened? I've been dying to post this thread. I always saw everyones and I'm like I'm getting closer I'm getting closer! Thats so exciting. We actually sent our invites at like 120 days but we are a doing a DW so people have to arrange flights and book lodging so we wanted everyone to have enough time to shop around. We have actually already received like 40 RSVPS too which I was quite surprised... well not really my family comes to pretty much anything big in life (dads 60th b-day, sisters passing, my high school graduation years ago). They are very active but FH is not but we have received RSVPs from them already too so that was surprising.

I tried to get her to shorten the torso to make the dress more A-line and the hem looks terrible. 2nd dress and the one I will be wearing if she can't fix the other:

They're both beautiful! Hope your second one (original dress) can be fixed! How much do you have invested between the two dresses if you don't mind me asking! Do you plan on selling one to recoup costs?

The one with straps was $750 and the strapless was $40 plus $60 for original alterations. The one with straps is from David's Bridal and the strapless is a Maggie Sottero my mom got at a consignment shop. It will be about another $200 for alterations and steaming/cleaning. I'm going to sell whichever one I don't end up wearing. I think it will be way easier and I'll get more money from the David's Bridal dress but who knows. The strapless needs to be fixed anyway in order to sell it. I'm going to meet with my seamstress on Monday. I'm hoping she can work quickly so we can try them on side by side to decide soon.

Date twin! We have most of our major vendors booked. Invitations went out last week, as most of our guests are coming from out of town. We have our cake tasting tomorrow, and I’m beyond excited to try the sugar cookie icing!!! Where did you get the flowers for your bouquet?! I’m going to be making mine as well and have flower samples coming from lings moments.

Thats exciting, what a great consignment find. I actually found my prom dress in highschool at good will! I love thrifty shoppers! Well either way it seems both are smart investments! Hopefully your seamstress can do good work and turn your $40 dress into the dress of your dreams and you can sell the davids bridal one!

That's what I'm hoping for. Mainly because my mom picked it out and its more comfortable. We were in a fight when I went and bought the one from David's Bridal so it has some bad juju that comes with it haha.

Yay date twins! Its crazy how quick time is flying! We aren't doing a cake we did a donut wall in stead and will just cut a giant donut haha but sugar cookie icing sounds delish! My flowers are wood flowers. They are from Sola wood flowers. I spent maybe $150 in total on all my flowers for boutonierres, corsages, and bouquets and decorations! Then misc costs for floral tape, paint and what not. Smiley laugh
