It's Literally an Oreo Cake

Hadley, on June 4, 2016 at 2:54 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 18

So I was scrolling through FB and I saw a post someone shared of an Oreo Wedding Cake. I was super excited, not because I was going to try to make this for my own wedding (HEEEELLLL NOOOO) but because I LOVE OREOS. But about 30 seconds or so into the video I realized it was literally just 3 tiers of stacked Oreos. And the website was trying to pawn it off as an acceptable wedding cake. Can you even imagine the kind of things guests would say about the cake, "yeah we went to this wedding over the weekend and the cake was just a bunch of oreos." What if someone pulls an oreo and the whole thing falls apart?? WHY ARE THEY CALLING THIS A WEDDING CAKE?????

I've seen pictures of "cakes" like this on Pinterest. FH and I love Oreos and used to eat them all the time when we first started dating. I would love a cake like this in addition to a normal one. No way could this be the only cake

Right, I've heard of cookie tables and this would be a great idea for one, but for THE wedding cake, no way.

I love Oreos, but that's definitely not a wedding cake. You could maybe make a stretch and call it a grooms cake for an Oreo obsessed groom. But not a wedding cake. It would be a cute display at a bridal shower, though...or as an addition to a late night snack table at the wedding!

I love Oreos . I could see having Oreos on another table for a late night snack. But for an wedding cake I feel like it would all fall down when you get it.

Late night snack table, yes. Wedding cake, no... that would be weird.

Lol that fake wedding cake would be my snack before the real wedding cake. I love Oreos, and it's been a while since I've had them.

That would be cute for a shower or a cookie table like others mentioned. But how is it even advertised as a recipe? Lol.

Yea, Oreos stacked on top of each other does not a cake make. I wonder how many brides, if any - have actually done this.

Yeah, it's a cute design and I like oreos....but we invited a ton of sweet-tooths (FH and I included). If this is all we served, there would be so much unhappiness.

    Inspiration for our cake:

But it's just going to be our "cutting" cake. The rest will be cupcakes and a cookie table. (FH loooooves cookies.)

It's been going around Pinterest as an "alternative to a wedding cake" like it's okay to do some different and unique with your cake (like Katie S.) but to present something like this Oreo cake as the wedding cake is pretty lazy and leaves something to be desired

I think it would be awesome as a kids cake at a wedding!
