You’re still quite early to send invitations if your wedding date is end of May. Invitations are sent 6-8 weeks out.


We included both a QR code and a paper RSVP, because we had people who would prefer both.

Invitations are usually sent out 6-8 weeks before the wedding, with RSVP's due a couple of weeks before catering deadline.

You're probably OK, as long as the RSVP date isn't really early. The problem with doing that is that you're forcing people to commit before they may really know if they can go.

If your wedding is still at the end of May your invitations were not mailed late at all. To the contrary they’re at least a month early.

I just saw the updates. Yes, still early. A heads up would have allowed people to plan ahead and your nearest and dearest obviously will know. Otherwise, it’s not reasonable for guests to need to save up to attend a destination wedding in the first place so that should not be a consideration.

Yes, that's what save the dates are for. It's done now, but you may have to remind people to get RSVP's in.

I'm super excited for you! Destination weddings are a whole other ball of wax, so don't worry about people who seem adamant to point out that you messed up the timeline. I personally know that most of my friends and family would want more than 8 weeks to plan to attend, and they're NOT going to forget if they're making bookings as a result of your invitation.

Ideally we only do this once, and it's never going to be perfect. Plus, what's done is done! Enjoy the RSVPs, I hope you have a great turnout!

Thank you! You're are a very sweet person, I know your SO is proud of you. That is honestly why I thought I was late sending them out. I know if I got invited to a wedding in Vegas I would want to save some money for the trip to enjoy myself when not attending any wedding like events.

I sent out first email (with town, date and wedding link) in November, and second email in January, and a third in Febuary.
It feels really real!!! so excited!!!
Snail mailed about 10% of invites. I have two grandparents who don't have an email address (and are divorced) and I could only do a run of 10. It took two months to get there. Snail mail is slow.
