I actually had an idea and gave it to our baker and I'm going to let her run with it. All we had to decide on was the flavor. These are professionals and like you I'm often indecisive - so why not trust them. Although, our cake flavor was a total surprise even to our baker and can't wait to have it on our wedding day

    She recommended this

key lime cake and key lime buttercream, red velvet with cream cheese, chocolate cake with dulce de leche, vanilla cake with fresh raspberry , coconut lime cake with passion fruit

And went with this for our tasting

OK we’ll go with your recommendations less the coconut lime

    1. Key lime with KL2. Red Velvet with CC3. Chocolate wit Dulce4. Vanilla with Raspberry 4. Lemon with Fresh Raspberries 5. Strawberry with ?? Passion fruit?
And our final decision was #1 and #5 (She'd never made #5 and we totally made it up with "let's pick SOMETHING for our 5th"). We'll have both for our mini-cupcake displays and Strawberry / Passionfruit for our 6" cake

Gotta be honest, we both were kinda dreading tasting it because we're not huge passion fruit fans and it turned out to be the best cake we ever had (for both of us)

We have a lot of nut allergies in our family, which stinks because I love almond flavored cakes but we had a traditional white cake with strawberry filling and light ivory buttercream at our tasting and decided it was our favorite. The filling was a little more expensive but literally everyone on our guest list loves strawberries (it's only immediate family LOL makes it a little easier, anyway) so we went with that one. The cake is going to have the buttercream under fondant because we're having a topsy turvy Nightmare Before Christmas themed cake Smiley smile

She made the 5 cupcakes and ended up putting the frosting / buttercream on the side so we could mix and match. She was amazing and the cakes were so incredibly moist. (My mouth waters thinking about it.... ) LOL

...and I'm totally with you - a FH who wants to be involved is a huge blessing Smiley smile I would be so much more of a hot mess through all this if he wasn't helping with the decision making!!

Good luck on your cake choice - I'm sure it will be fabulous!

My FH dislikes cake (mainly frosting and fondant), and since we’re doing an early morning ceremony with breakfast afterwards we decided to go with a crepe cake. I make custom birthday cakes, but my audience is usually under 12 and tends to choose chocolate or rainbow- so I’m not much help!

I’ve been pretty indecisive about a lot of things, but other things just came easy. My FH usually tells me to pick whatever I want, but when he does chime in this an opinion I always appreciate it. I still show him things and tell him about what I’m considering, hoping for feedback, but I get that there are things he just doesn’t care about. We agreed on place, date, time, and food; everything else is really just there is his opinion.

Cake tastings are fun!! 🍰 How many choices do you get??

We knew we wanted to do two different flavors to give our guests some variety, and chose red velvet cake with cream cheese icing and a vanilla cake with lemon and raspberry filling!
