Italy?

Emily, on December 11, 2019 at 9:19 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 19
My FH started looking into where to honeymoon. We found that we can stay in Italy for three weeks for $2,800. The $2,800 includes round trip flights, hotel, and Eurail passes.

Is this a good deal? We’d be staying a week in Florence, Rome, Venice.

Is that a total price or per person, because it sounds like a spectacular price. Would you be staying in hostels?

I’m not using a travel agent! I did all the research myself. But I hope so, we plan on going in October, hopefully it’s nice weather!

That's a very good price!!! Like a VERY good price! What time of year? Also if it's budget airline like Norwegian check fine print, they have additional fees for seat assignment, bags, etc.
Side note - a whole week might be a tad too long for Rome and Venice IMO but there is no such thing as bad time in Italy haha so you will be good!!!

Ah okay! It is in October. We would be flying Delta!

What do you suggest to do in Venice and Rome? Is there not much to do?

That is a great price to the point that i would question it's legitimacy. We are also doing Italy. For 3 weeks I would want to do more than just those 3 places. There's so much more to see. We are doing Venice, Rome, Tuscany (cinque terre) and the Almalfi Coast in 18 days.

I've done this exact trip before and we were gone for 10 days! Rome has a lot of cool historic sites and plenty to do, but I don't know if I would dedicate a whole week to it. Venice was beautiful and i wish we would have spent more than 3 days there, but again I don't know if we would have done a week. Florence was a very cool city, do some side trips to nearby wineries. If you have time/need things to do, we spent a day in Pompeii and could have spent a day or two in Naples!

That's a crazy good deal, especially if it includes flights. We did 12 nights in Italy in March (4 each in Rome, Parma and Venice) for...well, a LOT more than that. What's the location of the hotels like? I mean, you don't need to sleep across the street from the Colosseum, but you also don't want to waste a lot of your days coming into the center from fringe neighborhoods. Also, Eurail passes can be useful if you're going to do a lot of hopping around, but once you decide your plans, check what direct tickets cost. I spent under $100 each, for our tickets Rome to Parma, and Parma to Venice, which included assigned seats most of the way. Rome - Florence - Venice is a straight line and should be even cheaper.

I spent about 2 weeks In Italy about 3 years ago. It’s gorgeous. While in Rome do a day trip to Capri. You will not regret it. So beautiful. Try to take a boat around the island. There is so much to do you’ll have an incredible time!

I 100% second Elizabeth on going to the Isle of Capri. I've been all around the world, and nothing compares to the beauty there.

As for the cost, it honestly seems fairly low to me. I agree with PP to double check the location of the B&B to ensure you aren't going to have to spend a good chunk of your day traveling.
