It Works! Body Wraps...anyone try them? How were the results?

Kathleen, on December 19, 2013 at 7:40 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 25

My photographer gave me one for free when I hired her and I actually am wearing it right now. Feels like Vics Vapor Rub, they say to keep it on for 45 minutes but I have had it on for about 2 hours.

I read reviews and pictures and got excited and just bought a 4 pack online. I don't care if the results are temporary, I am not "big" to begin with, but just want my tummy super flat on my wedding day in 3 weeks. My fiance thinks it is a total scam and said I look ridiculous. (he wrapped me in saran wrap).

So, has anyone tried these and do they work? I will let you know my results when I take this off. I am going to be ticked off if I wasted money on this 4 pack. Smiley sad

I've never used them but I'm not sure you should keep them longer than recommended.

My photographer said she sleeps in hers and I read several reviews that say not to wear them for longer than 8 hours. I plan to keep it on until I go to bed. Oh, and you have to drink tons of water.

I've never used them. They seem to gimicky. I hate weight loss short cuts.

Good nutrition and exercise is all you need.

Never used them..but they're definitely a gimmick. Any results you see are likely only going to last a day or two. Like Soonyee said; healthy eating and exercise is the only thing that really works!

I used to work at a salon that did them. I never tried it personally but I had a lot of requests for refunds. In most cases, the wraps help your body to quickly release water weight, which is not a healthy way to lose weight because in essence, it is dehydrating you. You are supposed to drink water heavily before and during the wrap. This type of weight loss is also very temporary, most users notice the slight weight loss return within a day or two, especially in cases where the user drinks the recommended amount of fluid everyday because they are simply re-hydrating their body. On the positive side, the wraps do release toxins and waste from the body, which promotes healthy skin and can produce an overall sense of well-being.

I had a girl on my FB who sold them. She was pretty overweight but would then swear they worked. Some of the pictures are hilarious. No way do they work like that.

I used one before and it did absolutely nothing. Basically you just lose your water weight which you can do on your own with teas.

Actually the wraps themselves don't promote weight loss. They promote the toning and tightening of skin. I've used two on my stomach and noticed a change. Everyone's body is different as well. What may work on 2 people may not work on the other 3. Not only that, but some people need more then just one wrap to see results. The supplements are what promote the fat loss specifically.

I used to sell jewelry and a lady I met through that now is an It Works! Consultant. She swears by it and shows her own results all the time. If I was going to try anything like that, I think I'd get that fat girl lotion or whatever it's called and some Saran Wrap and NOT spend $99! But, if you got it for free, I wouldn't be opposed to trying it. You already know it's not for long term results. I might do it 48 hours before the wedding or something.

It works if you are on a healthy diet & workout plan. It's funny though, you can get the same result by wrapping saran wrap around your waist.

I sold them VERY briefly...but who got me into it, is like, their biggest fan. You have to really follow the instructions to a T...drinking TONS of water while wearing it...and obviously, it is a "quick and temporary fix."

I posted about this a good while back. Lasting nope do they slim you yes! My friend used then shortly after I asked about them cause she was going on a trip to vegas she going on. She isn't really chubby but lost a lot of weight recently. She wanted something to firm her tummy and tried them and it worked. She worked out her abs during this period also so by the time she stopped using them her abs looked great. It helps the process just not a permanent result unless working at also

I have a "friend" on FB that sells them. Her constantly posting updates asking if anyone wants to "try this crazy wrap thing" is SO annoying. Not only would I NOT try them because of her, but I would NEVER try them because things like that are so unhealthy for you. They say they're "all natural" but I don't believe that for a second. You want all natural? Go buy some fresh fruit, veggies and tea. You'll actually lose fat instead of water and be thin permanently.

Yes. They work. for tightening and toning skin for TEMPORARY results. However, you can make your own wrap for about 6 bucks. ingredients on pinterest. cocoa butter firming lotion also works well.

I have seen mixed results it's funny when people say it's just water weight but when people lose weight that's the first thing you typically lose. When you sweat you lose water hence why you have to drink a lot same with the wraps. It's more for temp toning. What I noticed from those selling was those who didn't have healthy diets showed the best results and had to use more than one for longer than 45 minutes to see a difference. My theory was it's helps pull the toxins and stuff so if you have a healthier diet and less to lose you won't see as much because you don't A. have much water weight and B. less toxins so it won't work as well. Kind of like if you wear a sweat suit the one who works out frequently and has less body fat won't sweat nearly as much as someone who is bigger and has more body fat. Kind of like that. All in all I have seen some it works for and others it doesn't. It is just temporary. So it's a hit or miss if you ask me and depends a lot on your diet.

I've heard they don't work. They'll give you that "flat" feeling for a night but, it comes right back.
