It feels so far away!

Getting married in December of this year, and I know I have tons that need to get done, but it feels so far away that I am losing motivation and the excitement that I had when we first started planning. Getting married in December of this year, and I know I have tons that need to get done, but it feels so far away that I am losing motivation and the excitement that I had when we first started planning. My fiancé has been AMAZING. He's been encouraging and super involved. I just feel like the day is never going to get here. I'm ready to marry my best friend. I know that everyone says the time will fly by, and it already has (got engaged in November of last year), it's just hard for me to be patient. I know I should be enjoying the calm before the storm, but it seems to just be building anxiety!! Anyone else felt this way before? How did you get over these feelings?

I know everyone says time will fly and I believe that to be true once I get closer, I have about 5 months till I get married and I have all of the big things done, I have had them done since right after we got engaged in Aug. I am very organized when it comes to the wedding, I have followed the checklists, I look on Etsy and Pinterest all the time like many others. But I am wishing time would go by faster! I was laid off of my job about 2 months ago and I thought I would use that time to wedding plan but there is not that much to do beyond some DIY things and I have slowly been working on that. I don't want to go to far as I am unsure the number of guests and I am not interested in wasting money or time. I can only be grateful that the weather is starting to get nice here in MN and I can try and spend time outdoors keeping myself occupied!

I feel the same way and mine's much further than yours. I don't even know if it is that far away. I've had vendors literally laugh when I try and book them or tell them I'm starting to book (because I have time) and others say, "Well June is booking so do it now" I don't know who to believe, so I've been booking just to be on the safe side.

I have no advice, but commiseration! We also got engaged November, 2014, and are getting married almost a year to the day later. I have big stuff out of the way, but have sort of gotten stuck. I'm constantly on Pinterest and Etsy looking for stuff, but can't seem to pull the trigger. I know summer me will be thankful if I actually get more done now, but I've sort of lost the motivation, like you said. Hopefully it'll come back soon!

I went through that phase too, and now I'm in the "holy crap...we don't have enough time and money to get it all done in time phase"...LOL!!

Use the time to find great deals on the little things, like centerpiece parts, guestbook, your shoes. Look on the internet for dress ideas, and suit ideas etc. You have the luxury of taking your time and only buying things you really need when they are on sale. Try hard to nail down your vision and not buy things you will not end up using.

Thank you all for all of your words! Exactly what I needed to hear! I was so afraid I was the only one that has felt this way!

You're telling me! We're a year and 5 months away and by the time we're married we will be engaged for just under 3 years! Slow and steady wins the race Smiley smile More time for saving $$!!

    Hi Stephanie,

We are weekend wedding twins!! But I completely understand how you feel. I pretty much have everything planned, and am now playing the waiting game. Seems like December will never get here :-)

Wedding date twin!!! I know how you feel...I know there is stuff to do, but when it seems so far away, it's like "why worry.... yet" LOL But then I am the queen at procrastinating. In all reality though, I want to have almost everything done/purchased/finalized, except for ongoing or recurring payments by the end of June. At least that's my goal. I will be busy this summer with camps and conventions for my daughter's Juvenile Arthritis, and then my son has a baby due in October, and we have a butt load of birthdays between July and September. Plus, with 6 kids, I'll be in full swing of winter clothes and planning for Christmas starting in October. So, I just don't want to have to stress about it, and know that everything is done and I can just relax till the big day Smiley smile
