Is your countdown timer accurate?

Chris, on May 16, 2017 at 7:17 PM Posted in Planning 0 21

Not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but my "Until we say I do" clock is counting down to midnight on my wedding day, even though I've entered in that it's a 2pm ceremony. Is there something I need to do in order to have it count down to the actual ceremony? Seems a little counter intuitive to have it tick off the hours, minutes, and seconds to only get you to midnight of the wedding day.

Mine does the same, I think it's standard. It's only counting down until the actual day, not the time. For what it's worth, I downloaded my own countdown app, on my phone, that counts down to the actual time of our wedding.

It counts down to the day, not the actual ceremony time. Because your wedding day is going to encompass a lot more than just ceremony.

Mine just counts down to the day not the exact time

Yeah I noticed that too. I was kind of disappointed because I wanted to see it at my exact 1 year mark.

My wedding website countdown is based on the time of the wedding and I like that a lot better

I noticed that too, but I figured on the morning of, I'm going to wake up and be busy & excited all day so I would consider the entire day as "my wedding"

Thanks All! I wasn't sure if it was by design or if I missed a setting. I can certainly understand counting down to the day, but it'll be way more fun to count actual hours and minutes until I do as things get close.

Suggestion to Wedding Wire if you're reading... maybe you could give us the option?

That's the way it is. Mine has now begun to count the other way since we are officially married.

Mine says "Congratulations, You're Married" a day before I actually get married!! So irritating.

Yeah, when I first saw it I was like that's not right. It bothers me every time I open the app.

Cantwait4thedate- I hadn't even thought of that aspect. Seems like that confirms a flawed logic in the calculator. Since we can put I the ceremony end time, that's when the message should change. Smiley smile

It's designed to count down to midnight the day of your wedding for everyone!! Otherwise it gets a little complicated with time zones, and is the location listed in your account where you live or where you're getting married, etc.

I'll still pass along the feedback though!

Thanks. Makes sense. We also plug in the location of the wedding, could they link the time zone to that, rather than the address of the account? Smiley smile

Mine on the site says 4 days 14 hours of wedded bliss but the app has it at 3 days 14 hours. That bugs me.

On my checklist it says "Congrats you're married!" on June 16 instead of June 17th :/ I changed it though Smiley smile
