Is Two and a Half Months Enough Time to Plan a Wedding?

I got engaged in January, and began planning almost immediately.

I was able to procure a dress, veil and reserve a date with the church before I had a huge fight with my parents, who were financing the whole thing, which forced us to completely stop with the wedding plans. It was only 5 days ago that we made up and I have been plowing forward at full steam.

My fiance and I are meeting with the caterer tomorrow morning. Hopefully he can accommodate us and give us the date we want.

We booked September 26th with the church and are hoping to be able to stick to this date, but I'm not sure if this will be enough time to plan a standard wedding, not extravagant but not informal either.

I hope to have the invitations ordered by Sunday.

The bridesmaids dresses are going to be difficult to coordinate because two of them live in Florida (I live in NY)

This is going to be a nightmare, isn't it?

Has anyone else pulled off a wedding in this amount of time or less?

You can definitely plan a wedding in two months, you just need to prioritize and focus on the things that are absolute must haves. I saw an episode of Who's Wedding is It Anyway where a coordinator planned a wedding for a couple who needed to get married in 10 days. If you can, I would suggest getting a planner to help because they have contacts and know what has to get done. For bridesmaid dresses, if you can find a dress at a store that is a chain, that would probably be your best bet. I would check out department stores that are in both locations and you may also check out David's Bridal. They have an abundance of dresses in several colors, in many sizes. They will sell the dresses right off the rack. Good luck!

My wife and I just planned her brothers wedding in less than two months, he called us in June and said I want you to plan my wedding for August. It is quite over-whelming trying to get everything done but it can be done. And you seem off to a great start. So I would keep going full speed ahead and it will all come together.

I think it is very possible. It will not be perfect, but perfect is hard to pull off even if you had a year. You need to make executive decisions, fast--like you order the bm dresses, just make sure you get their accurate measurements. Send out those invites fast! You can even use the RSVP feature on this website on your wedding page. It helps a lot.

All things are possible. But, I'd recommend taking some stress off and get some help from professional service. foryoureventplanning.com is very pleasant and can offer quality assistant.

And if you are concerned with still finding your photographer, I can match any qualified vendors offer.

    Cheers

Congrats on ur wedding! I love your date; my birthday is the same day, lol. I dont see why you can't plan a wedding in 2 and half months. We got engaged 4 years ago and only started planning a few months ago. You'll just have to make sure you do a little bit of planning everyday til the big day! Good Luck! make sure you enlist the help of everyone and anyone who can and will help, lol.

Yep you can and I would suggest getting a Planner to help you out. They are so much help when it comes to vendors. Plus most the stuff you do, they can do for you meaning less stress on you. I for one, could not plan a wedding in just 2 months. I planned my daugther's first birthday party in 2 months and the day of the party, looked like I spent months working on it.
