Is this weird?

I know COVID has things all messed up, but I have tried to get information about a venue for two weeks now without a response.


I put in an inquiry online for the Houston Arboretum. We would love to use the grounds for our ceremony instead of going to courthouse. I didn’t hear anything via email or phone for four days. I called to inquire. The woman I spoke to on the phone said the event coordinator is working from home. She asked for my information to forward. Another four days went by. I submit a second inquiry directly to the event coordinator’s email.
I’ve talked or emailed with a lot of places and I’ve never had to wait this long for basic information. Does anyone else think this is weird or am I impatient?

    It’s unfortunately not super uncommon that vendors and venues can be really unresponsive I’ve had times where vendors didn’t get back to me until weeks later after my communications

    This is Covid life right now. It took me a little while to get through to someone at our venue to postpone. Although the hotel finally opened again (in Vegas) the event department was still closed.

    I had quite a few venues that were unresponsive during planning pre-covid. I ruled those venues out as options because it indicates how they will likely handle future communication with you.

    If they’re closed for events, the person who would normally be reading those emails probably isn’t working at all right now. I wouldn’t write them off yet!
    The coordinator at my venue wasn’t working for almost three months. As soon as she was back in the office, I had an appointment at the venue.

    Our venue would take a few days between responses sometimes, but they’re always kind and have great customer service. Now that we’ve booked they reply within a day or two usually.

    It's unprofessional to not get a reply after a week. Keep looking for venues that have a quicker response time.
