Is this normal?

Two weeks ago I came across a hair & makeup company that I really liked and wanted to inquire about hiring for my wedding. I initially reached out via one of the wedding websites and received no reply for several days. Last Monday I decided to try giving the company a call and used the number I found online. I was able to get in contact with the owner and had a conversation with her. She informed me she was available on my wedding day and would be happy to provide. She also indicated that she was currently out of the office, but was returning on Thursday. She asked me to email her and she would respond on Thursday and send over additional information.

I then saw I had a missed call from her number on Wednesday night. I called her the next morning and have received no response. I have not received any further contact from her at this time including the email she indicated she would send me with additional information. I have reached out again today just to inquire if she is still available. I’m getting concerned that I haven’t heard back from her, but I also don’t want to come off as a crazy bride. So, is this normal or should I be concerned and move on?

I’d give her until the beginning of next week, then call again. If I couldn’t reach her then, I’d reconsider using her.

It may be safer to get a hair and MUA closer to your wedding date. Sometimes independent artists close shop, move, or disappear. If your wedding is still next year and this is a longstanding company, be sure to get a good contract with a details on cancellations or no-shows.
