Is this dress too simple?

Haebin, on October 15, 2021 at 5:13 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15
Obviously two very different dresses, but I am torn! Please help me decide.

1. This is the type of dress I always thought I’d go for. An A-line with lace florals and a tulle skirt. However, I’m unsure about the neckline on me and there’s just so many layers of tulle. Plus I think this is something that everyone has seen already in their lifetimes. Is this dress too simple? 1

2. This is a dress I tried on for fun, but then I ended up loving it! It makes me feel so regal and elegant. However, I am worried that it is just too simple to the point of being forgettable. Is this dress too simple? 2

Both are really beautiful in different ways.

the first dress has more detail but like you said about the 2nd dress - it's just so elegant!

in my opinion i think dresses that are simple are equally as beautiful in its own way even if its got less detail.

i would go with dress number 2. i think the first one although its beautiful... it DOES look like any other wedding gown. but there is something just so classy about the second gown that gets to me.

I think you might have posted this before somewhere else, because I remember how stunning that simple gown looked on you!
They’re both beautiful but I agree the first is definitely very “now” whereas the second is not something everyone could carry off.
Thing is, it doesn’t matter how many people tell you a or b is The One if you don’t really feel it yourself. If neither dress is giving you the feels you want to have on your wedding day then maybe neither of them is the one.

Both are stunning. Don’t worry about what others have done or seen. What do YOU want to say your wedding vows in and see in photos forever???? It’s the one that gives you butterflies thinking about that!

I dont think it is too simple. Simple is refreshing and often better in my opinion! The neckline looks better on you than the other.

I love the second one on you. Once you are all dolled up and glowing on your wedding day, you will not look simple! I would go with the dress that makes you feel amazing.

The second dress is simple, but maybe you could add a belt and jewelry and it will help make the dress look less simple

Choose the one that makes you feel the most beautiful! You look stunning in both, but how you feel and carry yourself on your wedding day is what makes it all so memorable. You can always add your own flare with jewelry or makeup to either gown. Once it comes off that rack, it's YOURS. That alone makes it special and unique Smiley heart

You look stunning in the second one. And you can add some statement jewelry to it. Like some chandelier earrings, a long necklace, or a pretty back necklace.

I would go with the regal feeling it gives, and try it again with a cathedral veil (if you hadn't already).
You have a lot more accessory and customization options with that dress too, so you can find the right look for you. 🙂

I feel like the first one is “on-trend” and I see it a lot in boutiques or online for prom dress styles. It’s not to say it isn’t nice, but you want to feel like YOURSELF in your dress. It is very “now”. The second one is “very now” but in a different way - when it comes to the trend of being “minimalistic” or “classic”. Honestly each has something classic about it, but I’d choose the 2nd one because I can see you being more comfortable with the fabric - which is a concern for your wedding day: “Am I comfortable moving around & being around the people who have come to see me?”.

At the end of the day, you want to wear the dress that makes you feel like you, but elevated! You called the 2nd “elegant” and “regal” when you’re in it. Sounds like it’s a great contender if there’s nothing else that makes you feel as special as that does.

Have you made a decision Alicia??

Both dresses are so gorgeous, but I'd go for #2!! It's stunning and gave you the feels! 💖
