My husband is in a wedding in October. He will be wearing a tux. The recommended attire for women is a gown or cocktail dress. My husband is the type that he would rather be overdressed than under dressed so I am leaning towards wearing a gown. I was maid of honor in my brother's wedding last year. I am wondering if it would be okay to wear the dress I worn as maid of honor to the wedding or would it be wrong? I have included below a photo of the dress.

As long as the bridesmaids aren’t wearing navy or a similar dress I think it’s perfect.

My husband or I will have to ask the groom as his tux is just black with a black tie and vest so I have no clue what color the dresses are nor do I know the style.

Yeah that definitely doesn't help much lol. Can he reach out to the groom to see what they're wearing? Although I feel like you're probably fine in Navy because black tux's & navy dresses aren't color schemes that are typically chosen for weddings but better to err on the side of caution

I have the groom's cell phone number so if my husband doesn't, I was thinking I could just text him to ask what their wedding colors are. One of our friends actually had a black and navy wedding so while it isn't common it is possible.

I would find out for sure what the bridesmaids will be wearing. If my color was navy and a guest showed up in that dress, I’d be upset. But given my girls will be in red, that dress wouldn’t bother me at all. As long as it doesn’t look like you’re trying to match the bridal party.
